Before non-UK people chime in: our houses are built to retain heat, we don’t have AC and we are simply not built for this. Our houses get hotter than it is outside, but outside is also hot. We don’t have anywhere to stay cool or to be at a reasonable temperature.

A few models going for extreme temperatures on Tuesday ARPEGE showing 40C, UKV showing 39C. Other models not quite so extreme, but still up to 35C. Unfortunately the heat likely to last all week, GFS has 38C on Friday too. So the June max temp record certainly looks under threat
