1997 Raw: Week Four Ahmed v Crush: oh boy Bulldog v Furnas: awful tired Ahmed chasing The Nation with a plank of wood: five star Godwinns v Mankind & Vader: slobberknocker Not as good as last week, but every match finish fed into a bigger angle. Austin stole the show.
1997 Raw: Week Three Bret angle: yes Austin promos: hell yeah Owen & Bulldog v Furnas & LaFon: really good Farooq v Bart Gunn: awful tired Taker v Austin: decent Felt more like barely contained chaos than scripted TV. No harrowing Honky Tonk commentary. Excellent show

WCW Magazine's December 1991 TV guide still advertised WCW Power Hour on Sky Sports three times a week: Monday 7pm, Tuesday 10pm and Saturday 5pm. Sky Sports had replaced BSB's Sports Channel back in April. 🧵
I had no idea Sky Sports aired episodes of WCW Worldwide in back in 1991! I thought WCW was exclusive to ITV in the UK, and Sky had an exclusive with Vince McMahon. WCW would appear on Sky in 2001 after Vince bought WCW but seeing this in 1991 is news to me.

This particular kind of dressy casual--jeans and sneakers with a sport coat, dress shirt with the top button unbuttoned and tie--has almost gone extinct, but it looks so good and timeless on Stewart here. We need to bring it back.

1997 Raw: Week Two HHH & Lawler vs Mero & Goldust: bleak Sid promo: yes please Shawn’s eyes: dark Rocky vs Bulldog: chin lock vortex Undertaker vs Crush: as expected, saved by run-ins and shenanigans Honky Tonk Man on commentary is absolutely harrowing stuff.

Do Walmart and Smyths employees have to make sure The Undertaker isn’t in the building before putting this out?

Friends fear he’s making niche Wrestling Observer references from 1997.

Capturing an old VHS tape which has an episode of WBF BodyStars on it. How did Vince convince Sky to buy this shite?

Too many people have told me 1997 was their favourite year in wrestling for me to ignore it any longer. I was a lapsed fan until Tyson arrived and have only revisited the PPVs; I’ve never watched all of the episodes of Raw in full. That ends now!

Intro to WWF's Battle Royal at the Royal Albert Hall - October 3rd, 1991. Would love to know the name of this production track that they used for these UK shows at the time. Sky also used it for non-WWF promos.

If I wanted to watch every episode of Raw from 1997 in order with as little pissing about as possible, what would be the best way? Purely hypothetical. I wouldn’t dream of doing anything other than watching the paltry 17 episodes available from the pile of shite Netflix vault.
