My day ended at Vimy Ridge. I cannot count how many years and times I’ve come here. A superb memorial and a special place to end my day with my @LegerBattleTour group. Love the Beavers. Good night.

And what a way to end my @LegerBattleTour Gallipoli tour. Mustafa Kemal’s viewpoint of Suvla Bay. From here he watched the landing unfold on 7/8/1915. Farewell to the Dardanelles until we meet again. #gallipoli

The dominating and impressive Turkish memorial to their soldiers of the Gallipoli battles. It dominates the entrance to the Dardanelles. With my @LegerBattleTour group. As seen today.

Day 2 of the @LegerBattleTour Band of Brothers, 25th Anniversary tour. This tour covering both Normandy and the Netherlands.
Credit to @Agrbez, who for this leg has had these custom roll outs made for us. 5 metres long! Sometimes on the ground it is hard to get across the sheer scale the size of the landings and resources used.
Here is a complete diagram of both 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions troop carrier transport group for the PIR. Departing airfield, unit, serial, jump time. The detail we have even then goes down in to company level and who was in the respective stick.
Easy Company are marked in blue, Lt Meehans C47 in red, Lt Winters C47 in green.
To think this formation of aircraft is around 2hrs30min of continuous flight overhead. And, this does not even include the transport group for the GIR! Imagine to have been on the ground that night and witnessed this.
Absolutely fantastic to be able to present this level of detail today with my group.

A 5/5 review from my last @LegerBattleTour tour on the new 7 day Normandy landings trip.
I had great clients and such a memorable tour with lots of interaction, personal stories and questions. This new 7 day tour is superb and I’d highly recommend it.
Possibly come join me in 2027 on it, leger.co.uk/tours/the-ultima…
