Boy. Bodexpress looked like the Milton Bradley of thoroughbred racing in the Preakness today.
TV graphic just noted that this is the Bears' second consecutive game with a red-zone takeaway. Feels like 1985 all over again, doesn't it?

Good to see the Bears really brought it for this all-important third preseason game, no? I know it doesn't count, but Yikes! Very not good.

10,000 meters ... I'd probably drive, or call a cab, as I don't Uber.

Leo High School salutes Big Shoulders Fund President and CEO Josh Hale, recipient of the Cardinal Bernardin Humanitarian Award. A good man.

Leo HS sectional champs! On to Supersectional for first time since 09 after beating Hope Academy in Elgin Sectional final. Happy for kids.
Sadly moved by the death of Bud Collins. Beyond all he did, a very nice man. Check out SL Price piece on SI.com.
Wonder if the Bears would have had a Pro Bowl player or two if they got more coverage. Five stories a day in two papers doesn't do the job.
Boy, the Bears look sharp today, don't they? Especially on defense. Easy to see a deep playoff run when they're performing this well.
Cubs: 97 wins plus Lackey, Zobrist, Heyward. White Sox: 76 wins plus Avila, Navarro, Lawrie. Didn't Chicago used to be a two-team market?

Walk-off piece from Chris Denorfia? It just might be your year.

Wins may be a bogus stat with analyticians, but there's value in a team expecting to win each time a pitcher takes the ball. #Jake Arrieta

As the Cardinals continue to lose a player a day, wouldn't the Cubs rather face them in the play-in game? An NBA team would go in the tank.
Never seen so many good hitters have so many bad swings as they do against Arrieta. His stuff must be otherworldly.

Jake Arrieta perfect through five with a homer. MVP as well as Cy Young winner? Kidding. B. Harper and Papelbon---couple of real pros.

Wild-card celebrations? Meh. Wait till you've won something. It's just me, but suspicion is Cubs are through spraying bubbly till next year.
Thirty-nine minutes of phenomenal basketball. The last one, not so much. But a great effort by the six-man, truly well-coached ND team.

ND looks like Buster Douglas against Mike Tyson ... at least for now.
