EVs are moving to the top of the list for more car shoppers.
A new report from @nbcbayarea looks at the following indicators:
- Recent sales data from popular automakers
- The price of gasoline and the savings EVs can offer
- EVs reaching near-cost parity with gas vehicles
- The availability of state-level incentives, like California's MyFirst EV program

The Office of @CAgovernor announced today that nearly 12,000 Californians have purchased their first electric vehicle through the @AirResources's MyFirstEV rebate program, which offers up to $3,500 off a new EV or $1,750 off an eligible used EV, providing upfront purchase savings.
The release also detailed the following highlights, showcasing EV progress being made across the state:
• According to @CalEnergy, California has 224,438 public and limited-access charging ports statewide. The state also estimates that nearly 1.2 million home chargers are installed in residences throughout California.
• California's EV market share remained steady at 19.1% of new car sales in the third quarter of 2026, and the state's total cumulative new EV sales climbed to nearly 2.8 million.
• Currently, more than 25,600 Californians work in zero-emission vehicle manufacturing across 52 manufacturers in the state, and @CAGoBiz has released a strategy to support the continued growth of California’s EV market.
Together, these efforts have immense impact — from improving public health and building a growing job market to making driving electric more affordable and accessible for all Californians.

How does the EV industry successfully transition from the era of the early-adopter to the mass market, and what motivates price-conscious, everyday Californians?
This conversation took center stage during an executive-level fireside chat, “The New EV Reality: Policy, Prices, and the Pragmatic California Consumer,” at @AreYouEVReady's 14th Annual EV Week Reception at the @Rivian Flagship Space in San Francisco.
Featuring Veloz Public Policy Board Member and @CA_Trans_Agency Secretary @ToksOmishakin, Charge Across Town Executive Director @maureenblanc, and Veloz Executive Director Josh D. Boone, with moderation by Veloz Head of Business Development Munni Krishna and opening remarks from Rivian Senior Policy Advisor @tom_vanheeke, the discussion touched on what consumers care about most — the cost savings from driving electric, state and local incentives, charging confidence, seeing how an EV can fit into their daily lives, and how the EV industry is answering the call.
Thank you to everyone who attended for a charged-up evening of conversation and connection!
Electric school buses can do more than just move students.
Six new buses in Colorado will showcase what’s possible when transportation electrification and energy innovation intersect. ⚡
Robert Kenney, president of @XcelEnergyCO and a Veloz Board Director, highlighted the project's potential as @JeffcoSchoolsCo launched the buses alongside six bidirectional chargers.
“Electric school buses are creating new opportunities for schools to modernize their fleets while supporting Colorado’s broader energy future,” Kenney said.
Supported by Veloz Premier Member Xcel Energy’s Electric School Bus Program, the project will give the district experience with bidirectional charging and highlight how the buses can provide flexibility to the grid when they’re not on the road.

Wisconsin is building momentum behind EV charging.
The @WisconsinDOT recently awarded $25 million in NEVI funding for 42 new fast-charging sites that will bring approximately 168 new fast-charging ports to communities across the state.
As Wisconsin and other states expand charging access beyond major highways and into places people already go — including grocery stores, hotels, and restaurants — they are serving communities in need of more charging options and helping make EVs an easy choice for everyday drivers.

EV interest is growing, and we saw it firsthand in Davis, California, last weekend.
At the #RideCool Transportation Fair, attendees explored a wide range of EV models and other ways to go electric.
We got to hear from locals about how EVs have changed their lives for the better.
And the EV-curious attendees we spoke with? They’re all considering an EV for their next vehicle purchase or lease.

What if the biggest gap in EV adoption isn’t political?
A new survey from @zeta_updates and @Gen_180 released ahead of Climate Week, found that 51% of Americans say they’re likely to purchase or lease an EV within the next five years.
But there’s more to the story.
Among adults ages 18–34, 75% say they’re likely to purchase or lease an EV within the next five years. Among adults 65 and older, 23% say the same. That 52-point gap between the youngest and oldest Americans showcases a generational difference, rather than a political divide.

North Carolina Department of Transportation has awarded $14.4 million to expand EV charging across the state through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, bringing the state's total NEVI funding to $109 million to date.
The latest round will fund eight businesses building charging stations at 14 locations statewide, including Asheboro, High Point, Raleigh, and Wadesboro, among other communities, with the full network expected to be operational within three years.
This is an important step forward in expanding accessible charging across North Carolina's cities and rural communities, with future funding rounds set to reach even more communities as the network grows.

That’s a wrap on #RoadmapForth 2026!
Our team was charged up in Seattle last week, connecting with leaders across the EV industry and digging into the conversations shaping what comes next.
From the announcement of @CATALYSTMOBLTY and discussions about closing charging infrastructure gaps to panels on EV education and conversations around AI, the conference highlighted the range of ideas and challenges across the transportation electrification landscape.
We were proud to have had Rosa Davies and Noah Garcia on the ground at Forth Roadmap, alongside Veloz Board Directors Adam Lenz, Head of Sustainability and Environment at @Waymo, and Tessa Sanchez, Head of Sustainability Policy at @Uber.
Rosa and Noah also had a chance to catch up with Lauren Bailey, Assistant Director, Clean Transportation at @NYSERDA and Megan Quirk, Program Manager at NYSERDA.
And for those wondering: we did investigate the important stuff (aka: the chowder, the karaoke, and the coffee).
Bottom Line? Seattle delivered, and so did Forth Roadmap. See you all next year!
Veloz is thrilled to welcome Xcel Energy – Colorado President Robert S. Kenney to our Board of Directors and @xcelenergy as our newest member!
Xcel Energy serves customers across eight states: Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin. Alongside their 2050 vision to deliver zero-carbon energy for all electric vehicles in the states they serve, the company also set ambitious goals to enable the charging infrastructure for 1.5 million #EVs and to electrify 20% of their combined fleet by 2035.
Under Robert’s leadership, Xcel Energy – Colorado is delivering wide-ranging programs to make EVs more affordable and accessible for everyday customers and commercial fleets, driving the state to be at the forefront of the national clean transportation movement.
