🇮🇳 🚨 INDIA: THREAT ACTOR CLAIMS TO SELL 7.5GB OF CONFIDENTIAL MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS AND NIC EMAILS
A threat actor on an underground forum is advertising what they describe as 7.5 GB of confidential emails from India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the government's e-governance technology arm. The seller says the data covers 2024–2026 and was taken from an "abandoned server."
The listing claims:
* More than 7,500 emails, about 7.5 GB in total
* Communications from the MEA and NIC dated 2024–2026
* Asking price of $8,000, payable in crypto only
⚠️ Analyst Note:
Diplomatic and government IT email archives are high-value for espionage, impersonation and targeted phishing against officials and partner governments. No samples were reviewed, and neither the MEA nor NIC had confirmed an incident at the time of writing.
This is an unverified threat-actor claim, NOT confirmation that the MEA or NIC was breached.
