Voted, getting to enjoy some of the best KC BBQ I’ve ever had at Slap’s BBQ

I’ll never understand why Scream fans want to keep seeing the same story and characters over and over again. Halloween and Elm Street proved you can move on from the original characters and still make good movies. Scream desperately needs to let Sidney and Gale go.

Yes, John Carpenter’s Halloween deserves all the love and respect it gets. It’s not the greatest horror movie imo but it still stands the test of time.

Nothing like starting the first day of my vacation with a dead car battery

Showa Godzilla, specifically the heroic version, isn’t how I prefer Godzilla but many of those movies are still high points in the franchise, despite the more dated effects and camp factor many of them have. They’re the blueprint for everything going forward and deserve respect

Yeah, that’s going in the category of “I appreciate it more than I like it”. Crazy good performances and some genuinely weird turns but not enough happens and it feels like it should have been weirder.

My ANOES rankings. Very pleasantly surprised by how well most of these have held up. I’m always ready for Freddy

My Friday The 13th ranking. Had a fun time revisiting these movies. The franchise overall isn’t great but it’s a fun series for sure.

Finishing off the spooky season the right way

#NRW The Changeling (1980)

Yeah, the Platinum Dunes style of horror is just not for me. Glad others have come around to liking this, though. I wish I could, especially given how good Derek Mears is as Jason. He deserved better.

#NRW Friday The 13th (2009) for the first time since theaters

My memory from 2010 is this was one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I guess I’ve seen a lot worse since because it’s not painful. Far away from good but not that bad. Not even sure it’s my least favorite of the series now.
