"With the addition of Constellation’s projects, UPRISE has identified approximately 4.7 gigawatts of additional nuclear capacity—95% of its 5GW goal by 2029. The Energy Department is supporting the majority of these investments through loan funding from the Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF)," according to a new fact sheet from DOE.

DOE’s Office of Energy Dominance Financing today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $5 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Constellation Energy’s nuclear fleet in Illinois, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

“Last week, Montreal-based AtkinsRéalis inked a deal with utility Hoosier Energy and the Indiana government to explore building up to 6 gigawatts of reactors in the state,” writes @AlexCKaufman in @heatmap_news.
This marks the first real effort to export CANDU reactors to the U.S., Kaufman notes. Also of note, Lightbridge Fuel technology can be used to increase power output of CANDUs in the same way it can for other reactor designs.

Congratulations to @ElementlPower on announcing financial backing that a group “led by DS Investment Partners pledged as much as $200 million to develop up to three of Elementl’s nuclear projects,” according to @business.
Elementl’s first proposed project in Ohio would involve @gvhnuclear BWRX-300 small modular reactors to supply up to 1.5 gigawatts of electricity.

Lightbridge (Nasdaq: $LTBR) CEO Seth Grae joined @SchwabNetwork’s Market on Close with @sam_vadas, live from Tokyo, where he’s attending Top Fuel 2026, the world’s leading #NuclearFuel technology conference.
Seth explains how Lightbridge Fuel is designed to produce up to 20% more power from existing reactors and about a third more from new ones, meaning three new reactors could deliver the output of four. He compares that to the recent Google-Constellation deal, which adds roughly one reactor’s worth of power by upgrading equipment across 11 plants.
