A pair of earbuds is a few grams of plastic, metal and electronics, made across several factories before it reaches a pocket. Solar panels, circuit boards and wind turbines are built the same way.
For years, buyers had to juggle those factories themselves, while the one with exactly the right machine often never heard about the order. ZETWERK (@zetwerk) set out to close that gap.
We first partnered with Amrit Acharya (@acharyaamrit) and Srinath Ramakkrushnan (@srinathramki) in 2019. Since then, that idea has grown into a network of nearly 7,000 suppliers, serving customers in 29 countries across energy, precision products and capital goods. Along the way, Zetwerk has brought work to builders from workshops in India to factory floors in Germany. Amrit and Srinath were joined by Vishal Chaudhary, Ankit Fatehpuria and Rahul Sharma in their journey.
Today, Zetwerk’s name goes up on the NSE and BSE. Behind that name are thousands of people who built it, one part at a time.
Congratulations Amrit, Srinath and the entire Zetwerk team. This film is for all of you, and everyone who builds with you.

A personal health coach in India has traditionally cost thousands of rupees a month, so most people never had one.
A trainer at ₹5,000 or a dietician at ₹2,000 a month has never been an option for most families, so health advice has meant a Google search, a YouTube video, or a doctor's visit. An AI coach at ₹200 a month changes who can afford a coach that checks in every day.
SuperLiving (@SuperLivingApp) replaces scattered, generic, or expensive health advice with one personalized, affordable, AI-powered platform that feels like having a team of health coaches in your pocket.
In the first episode of The Investment Memo, we walk through Lightspeed’s original investment memo on SuperLiving and why India is ready for AI health coaches.

"A great UI/UX or data is not defensible today..."
The largest horizontal AI platforms are expected to enter health in India, and the category already makes up a meaningful share of what people ask them.
When we partnered with @SuperLivingApp, we were open about that risk in our investment memo. In the first episode of The Investment Memo, Lightspeed Partner @kumarharsha2212 read it out to Manavdeep Singh Grover, Co-Founder of SuperLiving, and they discussed what keeps a company ahead of a platform with far more reach. Every founder building consumer AI in India will face the same question.
Manavdeep starts with what no longer sets a company apart, and then explains what SuperLiving is building instead.

An exciting day for the @zetwerk team.
Eight years ago, @acharyaamrit and @srinathramki set out to restructure global manufacturing around reliability.
Today, Zetwerk is going public with the same commitment to on-time and in-full delivery. When a customer’s order arrives in full on the date promised, the many years of waiting on suppliers shrinks and once scattered capacity becomes plannable.
From a young marketplace to a manufacturing ecosystem now serving customers in 29 countries. Congratulations on the listing Amrit, Srinath and team!
@LightspeedIndia @lightspeedvp
Zetwerk is now listed on the NSE and BSE.
To everyone who helped build Zetwerk, thank you. We hope you feel proud today.
To our new shareholders, welcome. We have a lot more to build.
Here’s to building an enduring manufacturing company from India, for India and the world.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, consumer's back :)
Hear about @SuperLivingApp from Manav, Gurjot, Harsha and Priyal, and what the future about health looks like!
🔊 The Investment Memo, Episode 1 🎙️
Every partnership at Lightspeed starts with an investment memo, where our team writes down what it believes about a company before we partner with it. In The Investment Memo, our new series, we open that memo with the founders it was written about and read from it, so you can see how an early investment decision is made.
Our first episode is with @SuperLivingApp, which is building an AI health coach for India, starting with users in tier 2 and tier 3 towns. People already ask AI about their health, but they rarely get someone who checks in with them the next day, and SuperLiving's coaches remember each user and follow up, at a price most families can pay.
We partnered with Manavdeep Singh Grover and Gurjot Kaur early at SuperLiving's Series A. When we wrote our memo, the app had 24,000 paid subscribers after about four months. Both founders came from Pocket FM, and they have shaped the product around what their users asked for.
In the episode, Lightspeed Partner @kumarharsha2212 and Vice President @PriyalMotw89880 read our memo to Manavdeep and Gurjot section by section, from the team and market to the risks we noted, and discuss what has shifted since.

Investing thesis, memos, IC decisions & deliberations: they all feel so opaque and inscrutable to founders and it really shouldn't be! We are going to demystify this world and bring back our thesis documents and dissect it with founders live on a new podcast, The Investment Memo!
Lightspeed Partner Harsha Kumar (@kumarharsha2212) spoke to Himanshi Lohchab (@HimanshiET) of The Economic Times (@EconomicTimes) about what AI agents will change for brands and for India.
Harsha shared that the internet will become a layer agents operate on, and that brands will have to try harder to get noticed when the buyer is software and influencing algorithmic recommendations will matter more. She added that whoever owns the interface owns the customer and sets the terms for brands.
For India, she sees AI arriving on infrastructure that is already very strong, from cheaper high-speed mobile internet to UPI and logistics.

Most of India's consumer products were designed for its top 10%. The next 300 million are the users they have never reached.
They have long been viewed as a market with limited spending power. Lightspeed Partner Rahul Taneja (@rahultaneja) writes that this is likely the wrong diagnosis, and that they have been too expensive to serve. The cost of serving them is now falling fast. With AI, a founder can build a very different kind of team and infrastructure, and reach them at a fraction of the old cost.
His write-up, adapted from his recent consumer track session at the Google for Startups x Lightspeed Sprint, looks at what that change makes possible, assumptions most platforms still make about their users, and the principles for building products native to Bharat.

India will emerge as the green power hegemon. The cost of a solar power plant today in India is a third of that in the US. Even with battery storage - solar is *already* cheaper than conventional power. EV penetration is rising across personal vehicles with category defining companies like @atherenergy leading the charge. More importantly, commercial vehicles - a massive diesel guzzler is rapidly electrifying as well. This is far reaching implications across industries like steel, aluminium, oil and gas - impacting not just our environment but also balance of payments and exports.
At @LightspeedIndia we have backed category defining companies here like Solar Square and @ExponentEnergy. Many more will bloom and we are excited to back the best
We believe now is an incredible time to build consumer and fintech products in India. The first wave of AI was largely about enterprise software. The next one belongs to the products people use every day to shop, learn, save and borrow, and India has already built the digital infrastructure they need.
The cost of serving those users is falling fast too. Mobile data costs have fallen by more than 95 percent since 2014, which built the last generation of consumer companies, and intelligence is now getting cheaper in the same way.
Building for this moment takes two kinds of help at once, from engineers who have run AI in production and from investors who have seen which business models compound. The Google for Startups (@GoogleStartups) x Lightspeed Sprint brought both to Google’s Gurugram office on 23 September, for over 100 founders and CTOs from Seed-Series B startups.
Lightspeed Partners Rahul (@rahultaneja) and Ishaan (@ishaanpreet) made the case for building now. Rahul's keynote and consumer track looked at what cheaper intelligence makes possible for users most products have never reached. Ishaan's fintech track traced where Indian fintech has created value so far, and argued that financial services is the best place to build an AI assistant. Ronnie Screwvala (@RonnieScrewvala), Chairperson and Co-Founder of upGrad (@upGrad_edu), sat down for a fireside chat on building companies that last, and the afternoon went to hands-on builds with Google Cloud (@googlecloud) engineers.
Thank you to the Google for Startups team for building the Sprint with us, and to the Google Cloud engineers who worked alongside the founders through the day.
