One of the young women shared a moving story of resilience: “When my arm was amputated in Senior Two, my father lost hope in me. He said I was no longer the person I used to be and stopped supporting me. But my mother stood by me.”
Families must be the first place where every young person finds dignity, encouragement and an equal chance to thrive.

Creating stigma-free, youth-friendly spaces in health facilities is critical to empowering young people to make informed decisions about SRH.
A shout out to the PROTECT SRH PROJECT to give us a platform. @WorldVisionUg @NLinUganda

Positive parenting starts with honest conversations.
If young people cannot get SRH information at home, they will seek harmful myths elsewhere.
This is the conversation emerging from today's Intergenerational Dialogue in Terego.

What happens when young people, parents, elders, cultural and religious leaders meet in the same space to have conversations around issues shaping every ones future?
This is happening TODAY in TEREGO #FromconversationsToAction.

A smile reflects gratitude. Grateful for a King whose legacy reached beyond the palace walls and into communities, especially by empowering young people.
We bid farewell, but the legacy lives on through every young person who chooses to make a difference

It is with deep sorrow that I join the people of Tooro and all Ugandans in mourning the passing of His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, Omukama of Tooro.
King Oyo was a dedicated leader, our Patron, and a champion for young people. He showed us that traditional culture and modern progress can work together to build a path forward for our country.
When His Majesty extended his support to @reachahand and the @ikonawards, he gave young Ugandans confidence and a platform. He stood with us in promoting health, dignity, and creative expression, reminding the nation that the next generation has a vital role in development.
His presence at our events, his words to rising leaders, and his quiet, consistent guidance will always stay with us.
Today we mourn a respected leader, but we also pledge to honor his memory by continuing to support and empower the young people he cared so deeply about.
May the Omukama rest in peace. His service to Tooro and Uganda will not be forgotten.
Omukama Atulize.
Enkuba Etutire.
Rest well, Your Majesty. Thank you for believing in us.

Powerful reminder from Hon. Lakisa Mercy the Minister of state for youth and children Affairs and the woman member of parliament for Alebtong District that age should never define our ability to #dream, #lead, and #transform Africa.

As a young person let no season be wasted, archive those goals because there is no limit when you decide on showing up each day with a positive mindset that you can do it.
I attained another award from @reachahand earlier yesterday, here is a certified youth empowerment Advocate.

Think about the young people who first walk into our orientation rooms at the Peer Educators Academy (PEA). Many are carrying the heavy weight of cultural stigma around health and choice, alongside the systemic message that they are too young or too inexperienced to matter.
For the past 12 years, @reachahand through the PEA has changed that reality for thousands of youth by doing two things: replacing shame with honest conversation about health and rights, and handing them real responsibility.
Through intensive training and a year of real-world project management under their belt, our peer educators gain a unique cultural confidence that becomes their economic engine. They stop asking for permission. They don’t enter the world waiting for handouts; they enter it as builders.
Today, we watch our newest cohort transition from trainees to leaders. You are joining a legacy of over 4,000 alumni who are now launching businesses, running health clinics, and leading major corporate and government programs.
To our newest graduates: your certificate is a tool for a lifetime of impact. You have the skills, the facts, and the network. Now, it is your turn to use them. Turn your training into action.

We are excited to announce that the 4th Annual iKON Film and Television Awards (@ikonawards) will take place on Saturday, 12 December 2026 at the Kampala Serena Hotel, under the theme "Beyond Borders."
African cinema is rich with powerful, brilliant stories that deserve to be celebrated on a global stage. However, our creators shouldn't have to look outside the continent for their excellence to be recognized, nor should a filmmaker's reach be limited by regional boundaries.
"Beyond Borders" is a commitment to honoring our shared narratives. It is about creating a space where African talent can connect, collaborate, and celebrate one another without limits. A creative's ability to share their voice should never be restricted by their passport.
Through initiatives like the iKON Society and iKON Activate Johannesburg, we are building pathways for African stories to travel freely and reach new audiences.
This is precisely why we are transitioning from Reach A Hand Uganda to Reach A Hand Africa (@reachahand). We are expanding our footprint to champion and elevate the incredible talent across the entire continent.
The countdown to December 12th is on. Join us as we celebrate the voices shaping the future of African storytelling.

As a Jonalist in the creative industry, seeing initiatives like the @ikonawards push African stories beyond boarders leaves me excited, now that our stories not only end in the product awards but travel across borders and get the audience they deserv it is worth a turn up.

Can someone who survives Ebola still spread the virus? 🤔
This is a common question, and the answer is crucial for community safety. While Ebola survivors are thoroughly tested to ensure the virus is completely cleared from their blood before returning home, the virus can stay longer in specific body fluids that are immunologically protected.
Because the virus can persist in semen, @MinofHealthUG advises men to avoid sex for at least 6 months OR use condoms consistently and correctly.
