Linux is a viable solution for many today, sure some games are explicitly blocked from linux but 99% games are supported through proton :) linux today has wonderful desktops to choose from and many applications supported to even do creative work. #Linux #linuxgaming
Some of the last reasons to stay on Windows have been gaming related. Both the time from installation to in-game and gaming performance on Bazzite are now actually better than Windows on many games, and living room usability is more seamless too.

Some good ge-proton news: - I made the steam overlay work with wine-wayland with a custom vulkan layer. This subsequently also means steam input will work with wine-wayland now! - I also have new patches added that allow proper system tray icon and notification nesting in wine-wayland - I also found you dont have to disable winex11 with wine-wayland and they can be used together, for example for game launchers that dont quite work yet in wine-wayland

New update is out as of yesterday morning that patches the DirtyFrag exploit. This one is similar to CopyFail which we also patched a few days ago. Stay safe out there. Remember these two if you ever wonder why we care so much about automatic updates!

Replying to @FrameworkPuter
@FrameworkPuter were kind enough to send out one of their new Framework Pro Intel 358H Ultra x7 models to us for testing, happy to report Nobara runs beautifully on it, and Kernel 7 runs great with fully functional wifi/bt, sleep/hibernate, and freakishly good battery life.

Framework Laptop 13 Pro is selling far above our forecast, and we've sold out of the first six batches already. Also nice validation of our approach, the Ubuntu configurations are outselling the Windows ones!

CachyOS is 14% faster than Ubuntu/openSUSE on Intel Panther Lake - just from distro-level optimizations. That's a massive gain for "free" performance. 🚀 Thanks for the benchmark @phoronix

Just two things before releasing the Singularity Desktop: fixing the light theme and writing some good documentation pages, because I really need people to understand what's the philosophy behind <3 More info at: sinty.dev #linux #windows #opensource #development #design
