while attempting to ignore the recent fud as i dont have all the details/accurate version of the full story/ability to give a fuck in the first place, here are some fun facts n a lil history about osrs n why/how they tie in to an on-chain bullcase for this meta: in late 2012, jagex drastically changed runescape's combat system with the introduction of the "evolution of combat". they basically skullfucked the whole game n everybody hated it. within 3 months, roughly 25% (!!) of the playerbase quit for good. jagex realized they fucked up big time n had to make a change before its too late. in early 2013 the players' prayers were answered; the release of osrs (oldschool runescape) was announced-- a playable version of the game based on a backup file from 2007. it was... perfect. players rushed back in to taste some of that sweet sweet nostalgia. at first, jagex intended for this to be a "side project" that will receive little to no updates, maintenance, etc while their attention remained focused on runescape 3/rs3 (the new, raped version of the game). they quickly understood that their customers are far more interested in osrs than its "evolved" version, n now osrs gets far more attention than rs3 both from jagex n from the playerbase. these days osrs is running laps around rs3 boasting an average of 100,000 concurrent daily players (up to 250,000 concurrent players during holidays n special events) compared to rs3's 20,000 daily concurrent players. jagex is estimated to host between 500,000 to 1,000,000 unique players per week, every week, n up to 2,000,000 unique players per month on osrs. there's your retail. odablock is one of if not the biggest osrs streamer/content creator. he has over 400k youtube subs, his videos receive over 100k views in less than 1 day after upload, n his streams see well over 15k concurrent viewers on a regular basis. he is only one of about a dozen big osrs content creators. i know this bc even tho i rarely play the game anymore i still thoroughly enjoy osrs content, as do literal millions of other former or on/off players. there's your retail. coincidentally, odablock's father is no stranger to crypto. some of his most popular videos revolve around his father's crypto adventures. stories of holding doge for months only to sell literally days before a god candle, sitting in laggards while the rest of the market pumps, all delivered by a grown ass man well into his 50s/early 60s with a thick arabic accent. golden content. he definitely has a ct alt account, but thats not the point. the point is, the biggest osrs content creator's hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of viewers are no strangers to crypto. there's your fuckin retail. i can go on n on n on, i really left out so many great talking points but for now lets talk about gp for a sec. one of the fastest n highest runners on stonkfun, a cashback token tied to digitalized gold (incentivizes even goldbugs/boomers/players lower down the risk curve to play along), already issued >$3m in GLDx to holders in under a month (!!!) n the memes... oh the memes... the memes are so fuckin good. finally, for the first time since wif, LOL-worthy memes. we like to talk about memecoins n their appeal to normies but lets be so fuckin real, since wif, every meme has fuckin sucked so bad. i dont want to turn this into a fud post against other memes but the latest iteration of another cat coin, dog coin, dead animal coin, celebrity event coin, whatever the fuck coin, it is the most forced shit of all time. argue w ya motha i dont care about ur opinion. runescape memes are genuinely hilarious n if they arent to u its prob bc u havent played the game, dont know the lore, etc, but MILLIONS of people already have, they get it, n they love it. you're bullish crypto?
