The UK stands with the International Criminal Court and we stand united with our partners in strongly disagreeing with sanctions imposed on the Court. The ICC must be permitted to continue its critical work holding perpetrators of the most horrific international crimes to account.
We, the undersigned States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), reaffirm our continued and unwavering support for the independence, impartiality, and integrity of the ICC. As committed supporters of the ICC we regret and strongly disagree with the announcement of sanctions to be imposed upon the Court by the United States. If put into effect, these sanctions will have a significant impact on the Court’s work, its dedicated staff and their families. They work every day to bring those accused of the most serious international crimes to justice and to support their victims. We remain both united in our support for the ICC and committed to engaging in constructive and inclusive dialogue with non-States Parties as we prepare for the Assembly of States Parties in December 2026. We will continue to work together to support the Court’s vital work, uphold the rules-based international system, and advance accountability.

Today:launching their Barista & Hospitality Academy in Kampala! 🇺🇬 exported 8.1M bags worth $2.1BN last year. If just 1% more Ugandans drank☕️, $47M would stay in the local economy.More baristas, more skills, more value-add!

Thank you, UK 🇬🇧 @UKinUganda today signed a £3 million #UKaid contribution to @WFP that will provide 245,000 of the most vulnerable refugees with food assistance delivered through cash, which enables families to buy the food they need in local markets. UK remains a key @WFP partner in Uganda's refugee response, supporting the transition from emergency food assistance towards self-reliance: meeting urgent needs for those at greatest risk, while helping families build livelihoods and support themselves.
