Official Lisa Lopes Foundation

Weeks before her death, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was a passenger in a vehicle that struck and killed a 10-year-old boy in Honduras. Her assistant, Stephanie Patterson was driving at the time. In footage from her final weeks, Lisa described feeling that a spirit was following her. After learning that the boy’s last name was Lopez similar to her own - she believed it had taken his life by mistake and had been coming for her. On April 25, 2002, just 19 days after that accident, Lisa died in a separate car crash at age 30.
