Zelensky’s former spokesperson, banned from speaking inside the European Parliament, still delivered her message:
“Let us be honest: a great many people want to destroy Russia more than they want to save Ukraine.”

You can say what you want about Iran but they're definitely pretty unique in their communication: never seen a country threaten another with a math equation before 😅 For those who didn't get it: there is a famous monetary policy formula used by the Fed called the "Taylor rule" that says a central bank's policy rate (i) should equal the neutral real rate (r*) plus target inflation (π*), plus 1.5 times the inflation gap and 0.5 times the output gap (the "i = r* + π* + 1.5(π−π*) + 0.5(y−y*)" part of Ghalibaf's formula). Ghalibaf adds α(SOH−SOH*) and β(BEM−BEM*): SOH referring to the Strait Of Hormuz and BEM to Bab El-Mandeb. Both have positive coefficient, meaning the more those chokepoints are choked, the higher the rate the Fed would have to set to fight the resulting inflation. In a nutshell this is Ghalibaf trolling the Fed, telling them that Iran is - in a very real way - setting American monetary policy.
Straits Taylor Rule: i = r* + π* + 1.5(π−π*) + 0.5(y−y*) + α(SOH−SOH*) + β(BEM−BEM*), α,β > 0 Let’s see if a hike could open SOH or produce a single barrel :) You can’t 25bp a chokepoint and r* isn’t neutral. It’s SOH risk premium, and We set it. Stay unanchored !

Welcome back to one of the most consequential and courageous human beings of this century: easily one of a small handful of pioneers for the causes of a free internet and independent journalism. The US and UK did everything to break and destroy Julian Assange, but he prevailed:

Robert Kraft defended the right of his NFL players to take a knee during the National Anthem to "raise awareness" about America's evils. The one line he has: nobody can use his stadium to criticize Israel. How can Zionist billionaires make any clearer what their loyalties are?
Has anyone ever been removed from a concert tour for saying fuck white people or fuck America?

We, the undersigned civil society organizations in Israel, stand in solidarity with the directors of the film NAZA, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, and wish to express our appreciation for their courage and commitment to uncovering the truth. We call on the authorities to put an end to the wave of incitement and threats of violence against them, and to refrain from any action intended to persecute them or their sources. The institutional responses to the film and the threats against its creators are reminiscent of those of authoritarian regimes. We strongly oppose the dangerous and delusional idea of revoking the citizenship of journalists and documentarists because of their work. Citizenship is not a reward bestowed by the regime or the government; it is a fundamental right belonging to each and every one of us. We also remind those who may now be afraid to speak up that freedom of expression and freedom of the press are integral to the struggle for democracy, and that dictatorship and the silencing of dissent never stop with a single victim or a single issue. Most of us, representatives of the undersigned organizations, have not yet watched NAZA. However, the subject it addresses—Israel’s policy governing the use of military firepower in Gaza—is of the utmost importance. The total destruction in the Strip, the number of civilians killed, including tens of thousands of children, and the evidence and allegations concerning the commission of offenses and war crimes demand investigation, public scrutiny, and accountability. We call for the allegations to be investigated seriously and for journalists to be allowed to enter Gaza in order to conduct a rigorous examination of the truth, ensure accountability, and draw the appropriate conclusions from the findings. It's worth reading Macklemore's full letter regarding how Robert Kraft, owner of Gillette Stadium, pressured Ed Sheeran to cancel Macklemore, and how Sheeran caved to this pressure, despite 1) his decade-long friendship with Macklemore, and 2) how Sheeran had no problem eschewing "neutrality" when it came to Ukraine. What this shows is exactly what @EliClifton and Ian Lustick write about in their new book "Israel's Lobby: America in the Grip of a Foreign Power." It's no longer just about how Israel or pro-Israeli elements push US foreign policy in a direction that undermines US national security (such as starting a disastrous war with Iran). It's now also about how these elements constitute a direct threat to the freedom of speech of ordinary Americans, and as a result, a threat to American democracy.

🇵🇸🇺🇳 UN: Hundreds of bodies recovered from Gaza rubble raise fresh war crimes concerns UN human rights chief Volker Türk said Tuesday that the recovery of hundreds of bodies from buildings destroyed by Israeli attacks in Gaza has renewed concerns over violations of international humanitarian law, warning that the remains found so far could be “only the tip of the iceberg,” Reuters reported. Palestinian authorities estimate more than 8,000 people remain buried under the rubble. This month alone, Palestinian Civil Defense crews recovered 96 bodies and remains from one site in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, including 58 children and 23 women. Türk called for international investigators to be granted access to Gaza to preserve evidence, adding that Israel has blocked the entry of heavy machinery needed to clear the rubble.
#Israel/#Gaza: Discovery of extensive human remains under the rubble in Gaza City resurfaces concerns of war crimes and other atrocity crimes – UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk. Recovering and burying victims does not substitute for establishing the circumstances in which they were killed. ohchr.org/en/press-releases/…

Palestinian journalists told us week after week that Israel was carrying out a mass slaughter of civilians in Gaza. Now Israeli soldiers tell us in their own words precisely how they did it.
𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗕𝗢𝗠𝗕𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 🚨🇮🇱 Ex-Israeli soldiers and intelligence officers BROKE THEIR SILENCE, describing an ICE-COLD SYSTEM where strikes were calculated to kill as many people as possible in Gaza. Their testimony is now a film at the Venice Film Festival.

"This is a film about a system. It focuses on orders, policies, and patterns of operation, not deviations from them. The conclusion that we draw from the testimonies is clear: The mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza was not a “tragic byproduct” of a war against Hamas, as it is commonly portrayed in Israel, but a premeditated, calculated, and intentional act." 972mag.com/naza-exposing-isr…

anthropic worker: anthropic's AI could kill us all because it's being developed too fast and irresponsibly!!!! at the same time, anthropic: let's build a pre-crime system to preemptively target people who think we are building AI too rapidly without proper safeguards mmmm...
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
