okay i joked about the dispatch “mistake” (👀) earlier, but here’s what actually bothers me about it. “all seven members” is a very specific thing to say about who helped write ILY Season. it leaves me wondering who on earth put “seven” in there in the first place knowing they’re not even the first ones. especially when the official track card is right there and lists literally six members in the credits. until we get something clearer, those six names are what i’m choosing to believe, because they can’t legally announce it and list it as one thing and sell it as something else. and the reason that wording got to me is that this rollout already feels so different from tsb. with bliss, the promotion felt heavily centered around six…like a lot. but with parallel world, the album title itself, the photocard formations, and now the “all seven” mistaken wording they apparently are using to promote it…i can see why so many of us are confused. any of those things could be nothing alone but once you put them together you can recognize a pattern. oh and let’s not forget there’s also mama. the comeback drops digitally the same day enhypen are scheduled to perform. heeseung was on the fans’ choice voting list as evan, yet he hasn’t been announced as a performer (and i don’t really buy the “he’s a rookie” explanation when cortis performed just a few months after debuting, let’s bffr). and seeing tsv get the album of the year nomination over tsb caught me off guard too, given how much attention bliss got instead of vanish (payola or not ofc). i get why all of that put together makes people wonder about the possible stage. i’ve wondered about it myself. we still don’t know why those decisions were made, or whether they have anything to do with each other. or they do but it’s nothing we would expect (i’m leaning more towards this honestly) this is where i think the ambiguity could work in their favor. they don’t need every boycotter to suddenly buy the album or stream the song. if enough of us are checking every teaser, comparing photocard formations, sharing screenshots and asking where dispatch got “seven” from, the comeback stays on everyone’s timeline. even when we’re criticizing it, we’re giving people a reason to keep talking about it and come back for the next update. and what keeps us coming back is the feeling that the next thing might finally give us an answer. maybe the next teaser makes it clearer. maybe it’s the mv. maybe it’s the mama stage. meanwhile, the official ily season track card still lists six members, and somehow we’re already debating whether heeseung will be onstage. that gap between what they’ve actually shown us and what we’re hoping to see is where they can get a lot of attention from fans who had already decided to sit this comeback out. i don’t know if anyone planned it that way, and i’m frustrated because i can see how easily it works on me too. i want to see them as seven again. of course that wording got my attention. but i’d rather wait for something concrete than spend the entire rollout doing promo for a possibility. i want to see all seven on that stage. of course i do. but please keep your feet on the ground with me. the official credits we have still list six, and i’d need something more concrete before expecting heeseung at mama. i can hope for seven and still remember why i’m boycotting in the first place. i can hope but still believe it won’t actually happen right? better this rather than getting another delusion :))
