The NZ Electoral Commission is placing misleading ads: this one should read, “SOME OF THE voting places near you” - the list in their ad is a small % of actual voting places near you

Funnest fact I learnt today: the joint heads of state of the independent sovereign state Andorra, from events going back to C13, are the President of France and the a Roman Catholic bishop in Spain 🙃
Replying to @Liturgy
The co-princes of Andorra are de jure the president of France and the RC bishop of Urgell in Spain. I assume at least the former regularly votes in his home country. Likely both. I also suspect Paul Bremer and Douglas MacArthur voted, but "head of state" is debatable for them.

I think this may be wider historically than my quoted tweet: I can’t think of any example in history of a head of state voting in another country's election as a citizen of that country, can you? [For the sake of clarity:my fascination is not about the right or wrongness of this]
NEW: Pope Leo XIV is set to become the first sitting pontiff in the Catholic Church’s two-thousand-year history to vote in a secular election. Leo requested an Illinois mail ballot on Oct. 3, and it was sent to his brother John’s home in New Lenox, Ill. John Prevost visited the pope at the Vatican on Wednesday and may now be carrying the ballot back to the Will County clerk by hand. thelettersfromleo.com/p/pope…

When one says that God inspired the Bible, do we imagine God dictating the words (that certainly is the understanding of many – technically this is called “verbal plenary inspiration)? Or is it actually something more like a muse inspiring a writer? liturgy.co.nz/god-as-the-mus…

Those of us following the world's most-used systematic reading of the Bible are in Ephesians. 5:23 - "the husband is the κεφαλή of the wife". This is not ἄρχων, ἡγεμών, δεσπότης (in charge). Don't make from the English what isn't there - it is closer to "HEADwaters".

3 in every 10 young people are not enrolled to vote in NZ. This government has changed the rules: if you are NOT ENROLLED BY MIDNIGHT TONIGHT YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO VOTE vote.nz/enrolling

~1/3 of eligible young people in NZ are not enrolled to vote & under this government’s unnecessary new law have only 2 more days to do so. Roughly half of all countries worldwide use some form of government-initiated automatic voter registration. Why not NZ?🙃 Yesterday’s Press:

The Vatican removed this verse from the daily & Sunday Mass lectionary in 1970 Fixed it for you: The verse the Vatican doesn't want you to hear at Mass: For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. (1 Corinthians 11:29)
The verse no Protestant wants you to read: For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. (1 Corinthians 11:29)
