Woke up this morning ready to game apparently. First few days back were pretty rough but I think it's safe to say we're rolling now :). List from @eeeeeeeeeeeeno's Spotlight Top 8 with hard-hitting question substituted for resolve in the board.

Now that woke is back, I just want everyone who abruptly started using the r-word again 2 years ago to know I remember who you are and it will always define you in my mind

If you are watching this and just have a passing familiarity with elections, just understand you're seeing something special, a 100-year flood. Easily the worst election for a party since 1974.

Oh, boy. I think Victoria Spartz might actually be an underdog now in Trump +17 (!) IN-05. The more I see in the Hamilton, Howard, and Delaware portions of her seat, the worse it gets for her. She needs a really, really big recovery at this point. We'll see if it materializes.

Republicans need to be hoping for massive Election Day margins, because these early vote margins for Democrats in Kentucky and Indiana are extinction-level, including rural counties that have historically been deeply unfavorable to Democrats.

OK, 7:00 PM ET: Democrat Zach Dembo is firmly in the driver's seat to flip Trump +15 KY-06, based on more drops in deep-red Jessamine and Garrard county. Strap in. No evidence here that polls are on track for a major underestimation of Republicans, at least nationally.

Spartz is in real trouble here. At 6:21 PM Eastern, this is now consistent with a tossup race based off the early ballots, and tells you that this probably is a really, really blue year. You don't get this type of drop in a blue ripple or even a modest wave. Buckle your seatbelts

Wow this first drop of ballots is about as good as possible for Democrats. Long way to go but feeling pretty good about tonight.

538 and the golden age of polling are over. The enshitification of election coverage is well underway.
I’m glad degenerate gamblers have been elevated to be considered more predictive than actual pollsters. great work american media!

Pro tips for Election Day while you wait for polls to close: 1) Stop touching grass. Don’t go for a walk. Don’t exercise. Go home. Keep scrolling Twitter all day. The next tweet you see down your feed will definitely tell you what’s going to happen before anyone else knows. 2) Trust anonymous accounts. They are the most reliable sources of information today. 3) Overreact to everything. If you see someone say there are long lines at a Republican-heavy precinct, assume it’s a red wave nationally. If you see someone say a precinct is empty in a rural area, confidently declare that Democrats will win a supermajority in the Senate. 4) Anecdotes are to be trusted and extrapolated. Especially if they are from anonymous accounts (see #2), and especially if they are about how busy precincts are (see #3). Bonus points if they have a hammer and sickle or an American flag in their bio. 5) Don’t drink water. The whole “drink eight cups a day” adage is just Big Water™️ industry trying to make money off of you gullible sheep. Drink only coffee and energy drinks. Maybe a Four Loko circa 2010 if you can find one. 6) Look at the clock a lot. Contrary to popular opinion, time does go faster when you are watching the time.

This is a beautiful example of why you should always read the methodology. Cohn knows his shit and is a good faith pollster, so no funny business going on here. Just making adjustments to weighting can cause big swings in poll results even with the same underlying data!
Nate Cohn points out that the Times' changed its weighing process this year. This is what the new polls would look like with the old weighing process. So they're already trying to protect against a pro-Dem polling error nytimes.com/2026/11/01/upsho…
