Hackathon judges have about 3 minutes with your project. What actually happens in those 3 minutes? 🤔 I'm hosting an X Space this Friday to find out, with people who have judged, mentored and run hackathons: @andrewdmaclean Staff Developer Educator at Twilio @colleencodes Developer Advocate at GitLab @JamesSwintonDev DevRel Lead at AG Grid @CCafeo Community at nocodeops by Zapier @FrancescoCiull4 Head of DevRel at Zerops @adityaoberai DevRel Lead at Appwrite ⏰ Friday 30 October, 4pm UK (12pm ET / 9am PT) 🎤 Audio only, no camera, no slides We'll cover judging, demos and the stuff nobody tells you. Like why the project with the best code doesn't always win. If you've won (or lost) a hackathon, come up and tell us how 👀. Over 2 weeks remaining on the @paypaldev hackathon with $60k+ cash prizes! nitter.cf/i/spaces/1aJbdEj…

LITERALLY my entire talk at @AllThingsOpen
I firmly believe that, with everything changing in the tech industry because of AI, developer relations is even more important than before. Why? Because we are slowly (or quickly) removing the human from every process, and devrel is all about the human connection. Maybe I'm biased because it's a role I've been doing for years, I love it, I see the value for any company with services or products targeted at developers and... I love having a paycheck!

So, DevRel?!
literal hardest role to hire for rn and every ai startup wants someone > chronically online (knows trends) > has taste & can create (new media) > understands ai & technical > can execute with quality (operator) such a small niche of folks who can do this

It is never too late. Reading someone's transition journey, all I could say is just put in the work, the compound effect is the real gain.

from all of us during our @TBD54566975 days @Square and my time working with @LoLoCoding on ZKP education...this is amazing!!
SEC Commissioner Peirce Calls for Zero-Knowledge Proofs to Replace Data-Heavy KYC/AML Practices SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said the agency’s Innovation Exemption provides a temporary pathway for tokenized securities to trade through AMMs, helping prevent overseas markets from monopolizing tokenized exposure to U.S. equities while serving as a bridge to longer-term rules. She also criticized the current KYC/AML model for creating ever-larger “data haystacks” with limited effectiveness while turning the financial system into a “panopticon,” and called for zero-knowledge proofs and attribute-based credentials to verify compliance without collecting or repeatedly storing users’ sensitive personal data.

This is why I'll always read the code and understand, architecturally, how things work vs not knowing and trusting an Agent with whatever it says. Having an understanding of how your systems work, how the systems/platforms you use work, and how it works programmatically is so crucial. Otherwise, you're at the mercy of your Agent. #agenticai #ai #kubernetes

Replying to @LoLoCoding
Being a stickler about coding standards and architecture used to mean you were pedantic, now you’re a ✨high taste engineer ✨

A day may come when headlines try to shake progress. But it is not this day. The roadmap hasn't changed. The builders haven't stopped. The mission remains the same. Midnight's infrastructure is sound. Execution continues. Onward.

most people ask: "how do i actually get into the Midnight ecosystem?" there are 2 very different paths, and which one you choose depends on how you want to contribute: 1. non-technical 👉 Nightforce this is Midnight’s ambassador / community track you don’t need to code. you contribute by: 👉 hosting events 👉 growing local communities 👉 creating content 👉 onboarding new people it’s a volunteer-driven program focused on long-term ecosystem growth, not short-term rewards if you’re good at: talking, organizing, marketing, or just getting people excited about tech, this is your lane. 2. technical 👉 Aliit Fellowship this is Midnight’s selective builder fellowship you don’t just “learn”, you build + contribute deeply: 👉 ship apps / prototypes 👉 write docs, tutorials 👉 run workshops 👉 help other devs it’s meant for people who actually push the ecosystem forward through code and knowledge selection is based on: 👉 real contributions 👉 technical understanding 👉 impact in the ecosystem the key difference: Nightforce 👉 grows the ecosystem Aliit 👉 builds the ecosystem both matter. both are needed. no complicated roadmap. no “how to break into web3” threads. just pick your side: → talk about it → or build it either way, you’re early.
