When silver reaches 40 USD I'm going to buy a bit of $AGQ and see where that takes me over the next few years.
On the last run it did 10x, It almost needs a 10x to get back to the old high. It turned out to be the leverage to silver that silver explorers struggled to provide with any consistency.
Not sure if it is best to aim to buy the dip when silver hits 40USD or if I should wait for gold to break out of its consolidation. Thoughts?
I guess this is why $obe has been a bit stunted despite WTI over 100 for 6 days now
🇨🇦🛢️😱 Western Canadian Select crude differentials continue to get crushed, now $31/bbl below WTI in Hardisty, Alberta.
That's tied for the widest spread in late-2022, and before that the late-2018 diff blowout that forced production curtailment in early 2019.
But this time it isn't pipeline capacity shortages—the transportation proxy (far right chart) is completely line.
This rout is being entirely driven by the diff at Houston, now at an all-time high of >$23/bbl.
That normally means an issue with light-heavy quality, which is partly to blame here. But this time it's much more driven by our record-high tanker rate environment.
Canadian heavy crude *re*exports out of the US Gulf Coast have historically gone as far as India, which is an exceptionally expensive trip (~10x normal) atm.
Combine that with additional Venezuelan crude availability this year and you need to heavily discount your barrel to get someone to bite, and it's this small pool of marginal barrels that are dragging down the entire Western Canadian pricing complex.
The brutal irony is that just at the moment Canada is finally diversifying exports to Asia that the long trip to Asia becomes a serious pricing vulnerability in this spiked tanker market.
Tanker rates have also widened the spread between WTI and Brent, so WCS gets the double-whammy of the compounding diffs.
I'm taking a position in $LIB.V Liberty Stream Infrastructure here.
It's taken a while for the price to come down to where I wanted, but it looks like it could pop here any day or moment now. Seems like a really cool company
So far we have been getting scenario 1 from my recent $HG.CN $HGRAF post to a T:
"Scenario 1
The strong price action and healthy back-test implies continued healthy price action; now the mission is to:
- get over the last high of 2.68 USD (3.75 CAD),
- make another higher high, tag 3.00-3.15 USD (4.20-4.40 CAD)
- then back test the previous high at 2.68 USD (3.75 CAD). (<-- underway right now)
What happens from there will be pivotal for this daily cycle: if we overcome 3.00 USD, then we can make a move to break the weekly declining trendline, ...."
@YiuCanDoIt just letting you know I'm reducing my shell exposure here short term

Hey M! Yes, initally it was very correlated to zinc prices selling off together with base metals as oil price was pushing down on economic outlooks, but I believe the bearish price action might be spilling into doubts over the permit which is due any day here, maybe slightly overdue in some peoples expectations. In reality we don't have any reason to doubt the permit timing besides general federal delays. The sell isn't on heavy volume. Which signals investor impatience as the cause in my opinion. I think we could see as low as 0.40-0.45 before a bounce back up towards 0.60

Just put out a piece on $OBE Obsidian Energy.
It has some amazing fundamentals and an excellent chart. It could present a great opportunity very shortly.
Just wanted to put it on everyone's radar. I think my write up might serve as a good starting place for some of your DD, at least give you the short version of its great potential.
Link to my article below in the comments
Also I wanna give a shout out to @GavMcCracken for his great coverage on $obe, I found it through him and wouldn't have realized its potential without him pounding the table on it over the last year.
He's the highest signal name in the oil space in my view, especially his shitposting

BC is Canada's most far left province. This is like if the Republicans won a landslide in California.
Canada is a very interesting country politically because if you remove the boomer TDS from the conversation, they vote conservative.
Carney's entire coalition requires instigation from Trump to survive. It was the same with Trudeau. As soon as Trump leaves office the liberals will collapse. It's like Canada and the US are inversely correlated. I've never seen a country's politics so dominated by what happens in another country.
When America is run by Republicans, Canada is run by the Liberals. When America is run by Democrats, Canada is run by the Conservatives.
This is where crude oil prices could really get some tail winds.
Now that Russian diesel is becoming a US national interest, Ukraine may be coerced by US to discontinue striking Russian refineries, which could bring 2.5m bpd of crude demand back online, dropping diesel prices and lifting crude.
BREAKING: Russia declares it is ready to supply unlimited diesel to the United States under Trump's deal with Putin.
"As much as our partners want, frankly, from the volume that we will supply for export. We can supply everything," Deputy Prime Minister Novak says.
The first 3 tankers are already crossing the Atlantic. Each carries 300,000 barrels of ultra-low-sulfur diesel, loaded at Primorsk on October 22 and due in New York around November 7.
That is 900,000 barrels, just 5 hours of American diesel use.

Refining margins peaked. Tanker rates peaked. Now every dollar rally in crude will eat into the other two segments until refining margins turn negative, and the vicious cycle begins.

Today's $HGRAF $HG.CN $HG update is right on time for this new low we have been waiting for. Congrats to those who had the nerve to load up or buy more.
It's fascinating how the cycles coincide with events.
Hydrograph's update not only confirms that things are running well in the background, but they are putting their reputation on the line again by hinting that some commercial contracts are due by year end.
Why would they do this after missing guidance several times already? It will just hurt their reputation all the more if they miss again.
That tells me that they really are so close to locking in some deals.
Soon they will be right and sentiment will be totally caught off guard. We are already seeing a bit of that today as those who sold out of fear are repositioning.

Its been fun to look back at my old posts to see what I was thinking and where I was wrong and where I was right
Back on April 2nd I pointed at the bearish divergence on the weekly chart (see quoted post below), price made a higher high when we ran to 11, but momentum did not. That meant that momentum was already slowing down and chances for momentum reversing were increasing.
I understood that, pointed it out. But I did underestimate how long it would take for momentum to reset.
For circle #3 I was prepared for price to either backtest or reclaim the weekly channel and keep trending higher. We got rejected, and as the daily cycle started getting mature I jumped out at 5.90 as I realized there was too little time to reclaim the rising channel in that daily cycle.
At that time the smaller cycles within the daily cycle kept failing (breaking lower instead of holding), and we never got the regular 4th 4hr cycle bounce we usually get. I took this as a warning of weakness, which I pointed out many times in my Substack Hydrograph chat, and I stayed on the sidelines.
This bearish behavior of failing the small cycles was a great indicator of the imminent selling pressure brewing, and it started in the 6.00 CAD range.
Now there is a lot of pessimism and rationalization around the company, lots of retail investors have been panic dumping their shares with market orders, all while in reality, there has been no material negative news from the company, and structurally, HG is in a better place than they have ever been in.
On top of that weekly RSI (a popular momentum indicator) is at the lowest level it has been since the stock was at 0.05! Let that sink in. We are likely making a very significant low here.
I am ignoring the doomsayers, who are always out and about just like the pumpers are when we are at the highs.
I think we could see a face ripping rally here shortly which will trap a lot of people out who panic sold recently.
I've been looking for a re-entry point myself.
Also, we are on day 104 of this daily cycle, VERY late relative to the average daily cycle, and we are on week 68 of the weekly cycle, which is very late relative to HG's average, too. We are due for a major bounce soon in my opinion.
If you feel that you would benefit from extra guidance and a solid community of sane HG investors (unlike the dumpster fire in the CEO forum - sorry guys), you are welcome to join the Substack group. There is a growing community there and a lot of valuable information, regular updates for what I am doing personally as well as T.A. updates.
$Oil down $5 on news of talks this morning, then flat on the news of the talks' failure.
A mega breakout in oil is coming
Zachariah Loney retweeted
We recently discussed how US Oil/Silver and US Oil/Gold ratios appear to be approaching major upside breakouts.
But digging one layer deeper makes the setup even more interesting.
The chart below is Oil implied volatility / Silver implied volatility (OVX/VXSLV). The ratio is forming a large bull flag / descending channel, and price is again pressing toward the upper end of that structure.
when this resolves higher, the message is important:
Oil volatility will begin exploding relative to silver volatility.
That would fit perfectly with what the underlying commodity ratios are already suggesting. Instead of this simply being a gradual repricing of oil against precious metals, the next leg could become much more violent on the oil side, while silver remains comparatively controlled.
In other words:
USOIL/Gold → nearing breakout
USOIL/Silver → broken out.
Oil Vol/Silver Vol → potentially nearing breakout
Three different ratio structures are beginning to point toward the same regime.
when OVX/VXSLV clears this flag decisively, it would suggest the coming Oil/Silver move may not be a slow grind higher.
It will be an acceleration, driven primarily by an expansion in oil volatility while silver volatility stays relatively contained.
That is the kind of setup that can produce a much larger upside move in Oil/Silver than the spot chart alone currently implies.
