The Brazilian left just stopped the right-wing wave in Latin America.
They shattered the "Donroe Doctrine" and handed "Imperial Miami" its most significant international defeat since Trump's reelection.
But now, they face their most dangerous test.
Let’s look at the material reality of how Lula pulled off the impossible. After losing the first round by 2.2 million votes, he didn't just win the runoff. He gained an astonishing 10 million new votes in three weeks, crushing Flávio Bolsonaro by a 4.4 million vote margin.
He did it by proving that the politics of the physical street, combined with a centralized digital army, can still break the algorithms of Silicon Valley.
While the far-right relied on decentralized troll farms funded by dirty money from online gambling and organized crime, the Brazilian left built a centralized digital infantry. A WhatsApp channel called "Lula’s Army" exploded to 10.8 million followers in less than three weeks. They didn't just fight the algorithm; they reclaimed national symbols and physically flooded the streets with over a million people in both Rio and São Paulo.
They beat Big Tech. They beat the US tariffs. They beat the Bolsonaro dynasty.
But here is the unvarnished truth that the left must now confront.
Lula is 81 years old. He is a generational, world-historic leader produced by a massive working-class movement. But you cannot build a permanent geopolitical fortress around a single mortal man.
The far-right still controls the Brazilian Congress. The US empire will spend the next four years launching dirty tricks, economic sabotage, and assassination plots to destabilize his government.
The Brazilian left has stopped the imperial wave. Now, they have exactly four years to work out a succession plan.
They must build a political and digital machine that outlives its founder. Because the empire never stops plotting, and the working class cannot afford to lose its only shield.
You can beat the algorithms. You can stop the right-wing wave.
But a movement that relies on one man is a movement on borrowed time. The next four years aren't just about governing. They are about building a machine that outlives its founder.

If you think the Bolsonaro family’s latest political circus is bizarre, let me tell you what happened in Brazil in 2022.
After Jair Bolsonaro lost the presidential election, thousands of his supporters camped outside military bases, demanding that the Armed Forces overturn the democratic result.
They spread conspiracy theories, demanded a military coup, and refused to accept reality.
On January 8, 2023, Bolsonaro supporters violently stormed Brazil’s Congress, Supreme Court, and Presidential Palace.
But perhaps the most surreal episode of this collective hysteria happened when a group of Bolsonaro supporters gathered around A TIRE AND STARTED PRAYING.
Yes. A tire. 🛞🙏
I’m not joking. They literally prayed around a tire. Even today, it’s difficult to understand what they thought they were accomplishing.
This is the level of political fanaticism we’re dealing with.
Now, following reports of Flávio Bolsonaro’s departure for the United States, his allies are attempting to turn Brazil’s domestic political and legal disputes into an international diplomatic crisis.
They couldn’t accept defeat in 2022, and they still haven’t learned how democracy works.
And apparently, Donald Trump is willing to entertain this absurd political spectacle.
Figures such as Paulo Figueiredo, Rodrigo Constantino, and other Bolsonaro allies continue promoting narratives that portray the family as victims of political persecution.
But losing an election is not persecution. And facing legitimate criminal investigations is not persecution either.
Americans deserve to understand who these people are before their government gets dragged into another country’s political conflicts.
Brazil is a free, sovereign democracy. Our institutions, elections, and judicial system must be respected.
Please share this story. Show people the videos of Bolsonaro supporters praying around a tire.
The world needs to understand how far this movement has departed from reality.
And most importantly, why the United States should never become a refuge from accountability or a platform for undermining Brazilian democracy.
