The statement below is by Commissioner Jeffrey Nash on behalf of the Camden County Board of Commissioners regarding the open space ballot referendum.
“This election cycle, Camden County residents voted overwhelmingly to increase the existing Open Space Trust Fund annual levy from two cents to three cents, providing resources to protect and improve water quality throughout Camden County. Astonishingly, more than 80% of the electorate made their voices heard and propelled this ballot question to victory yesterday. We are grateful to our residents for their support of this generational investment in our county’s future, and plan to make prudent and judicious allocations to projects that will enhance our waterways.
This referendum reflects a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, and preserving our natural resources for years to come. This one cent increase will protect natural areas from development, restore and improve the quality of rivers, lakes, and streams, and provide clean and accessible parks for our residents to enjoy.
This is democracy at its best: residents coming together to support a measure that will benefit our entire community for generations to come. This ballot referendum underscored the importance of putting a public purpose ahead of any short-term gratification.
The Board of Commissioners recognizes the trust that our residents have placed in us to be responsible stewards of their tax dollars, and we take that responsibility seriously. We look forward to working with our partners and the community to put this funding to work and deliver lasting benefits to the residents of Camden County.”

America is saying ENOUGH tonight.
Enough of the LIES
Enough of the CORRUPTION
Enough of TRUMP.
Traitor @realDonaldTrump got his ass kicked tonight. Really a vote of no confidence. Best if he stepped aside. He is of no value in the White House.
