First of all, Malinda Williams was so damn pretty. She was 28 here, btw. The Wood was a defining coming-of-age story that showed genuine Black male friendship, love, and brotherhood in Inglewood. At a time when ’90s films often portrayed Black men through drugs, gangs, and violence, The Wood gave us something more authentic and relatable. Sean Nelson deserves his flowers too. 🫡❤️
