1/2 🕯️😔 Anna Braga was only 33 years old. She was a mother, a sister, a wife. She was the entire world to her two young twins. And today, of that world, nothing remains but grief, memories, and a love that even death cannot extinguish. On October 29, in Kremenchuk, in the Poltava region, Russian terrorists took her life in a cruise missile attack. In a single instant, the sky filled with death, and a family lost its light forever. At the moment of the explosion, Anna did not think of herself. Driven by a love so immense it proved stronger than fear, she used her own body as a shield for her niece, protecting her from death and granting her the chance to go on living. Her niece survived. But Anna—who, in her final act, chose to protect a life—sustained fatal injuries. She saved a child’s future, while her own was taken away forever. And now, because of Russia, little Yehor and sweet Ksyusha must grow up without their mother… They will no longer hear her voice calling out to them with tenderness. They will no longer find her arms waiting for them after a difficult day. They will no longer feel her kisses on their foreheads before they fall asleep. There will be birthdays where her embrace is missing, mornings when they will long for her smile, and nights when no words can fill the void left by her absence. Two little hearts will keep beating for a mother who can no longer hold them close. Yet her love will remain with them—invisible and eternal—like a caress that time can never erase. 💔 "My Anya, my dearest soul, the most precious person life has ever gifted me. How I love you—oh, how immensely I love you! Today, a part of me has departed along with you. A piece of my heart that will never return, a fragment of my soul that you will carry with you for eternity. There is so much I left unsaid—so many words of love left hanging in the silence. And I held you in my arms so few times… If only I had known, I would have held you tighter, for longer—as if, by holding you, I could have brought time to a standstill. You are the finest, brightest, sweetest, and kindest person I have ever known—one of those rare souls who make the world more beautiful simply by existing. And today, you were taken from us. You were torn from our lives, leaving behind a void so vast that no words could ever fill it. My Anya, if only you could feel how much everyone loves you! You sowed so much love in our hearts, and now your absence leaves behind such profound pain. Right now, it is incredibly difficult to find the words. Tears stifle every thought, and my heart refuses to accept that you are no longer here. But I want you to know that I am infinitely grateful to you. Grateful for everything you did for me, for every time you helped me, for every tender gesture, and for all the love you gave me without ever asking for anything in return. You will remain in my heart forever—in every beat, in every memory, in every single moment of my life. I will love you for as long as I live. And when my voice can no longer call out to you, my soul will continue to whisper your name." I promise you that I will do everything in my power for your children, so that they may grow up happy, surrounded by that immense love you would have continued to give them every single day. I promise you that I will always be by their side. That I will never leave them alone. That I will strive to be an embrace for them during difficult times, a hand to hold when they are afraid, and a loving presence whenever they feel your absence most keenly.

THE MEN OF GAZA BURNED HER ALIVE Shirel Haim Pour was just 20 years old on October 7, 2023, when she spent what was supposed to be her final weekend at the Nahal Oz base before completing her IDF service. When she finished her night shift and was about to go rest, Hamas terr0rists invaded, and Shirel ran from the shelter back to the command center, wearing only pajamas and flip-flops, to help direct forces and report where terrorists were attacking. For hours, Shirel continued helping coordinate the IDF response and letting others know what was happening. When Hamas cowards failed to break into the command center, they set it all on fire, and Shirel was among those killed. At her funeral, her brother Barak said: "On the 7th of October, on that black day, you chose to fight. You chose to fight and carry out your mission rather than hide. You chose to help, and because of you and your work, the world gained many pure souls but lost a pure soul that was like no other." May her memory be a blessing.

Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy; welcome them into the light of your face. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace Amen.✝️ #catholictwitter #AllSoulsDay

Today is the tenth anniversary of the death of my dear father, Wilfrid A. Villarrubia, who died at 5:08 AM on All Souls Day, 2016, in the Intensive Care Unit of Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. I could never repay him for all he did for me. An Ave for this dear man would be much appreciated.

The harshness of the punishment doesn't matter to anyone who doesn't do the crime. And it's very easy to not hurt pets. Just like not raping, or not molesting children, or not violently assaulting people. It's really easy.

Ruben was born in a private zoo in the mountains of Armenia. When the zoo’s owner died, the facility closed. The other animals found new homes, but nobody came for Ruben, a 10-year-old lion. For the next six years, he lived alone in a concrete cell. His roaring gradually stopped. Those who checked on him heard only an occasional cry. Eventually, Animal Defenders International (ADI) stepped in and arranged to rescue him. Ruben was moved to a bear sanctuary in Armenia for treatment. Years of poor nutrition and almost no exercise had left him weak. His legs trembled when he walked, and veterinarians suspected spinal problems. Because his transport crate was too large for a regular flight, a cargo airline generously flew him to freedom at no cost. On August 23, 2023, after approximately 15 hours in the air, Ruben arrived at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary in South Africa. For the first time in nearly six years, he could hear and see other lions. And then something beautiful happened. Ruben began roaring again. The sanctuary staff say his roars have been growing louder ever since. His new enclosure includes grassy slopes and a shelter with heated floors. Staff even gave him a bag of catnip, which he happily played with for a long time. Ruben still faces serious challenges. Cataracts cloud his eyes, and sometimes his legs give way beneath him. He will need specialized care for the rest of his life. But now, he is no longer alone. He lives among other lions, enjoys the sunshine, and has finally found a place where he can feel safe. After six years of silence and isolation, Ruben’s roar has returned. And this time, the world is listening.

Trump eases sanctions on Russia and begins buying Russian diesel. Days later, Musk restricts Starlink service in Ukraine, disrupting its military operations and its ability to defend itself.   And now we’re learning directly from Putin that Russia has been in contact with Musk.   How on earth did we get to this point? How is it possible that Musk can disrupt an American ally’s military operations whenever he chooses, maintain a clear line to the Kremlin, and face zero accountability to the American people or the U.S. government?   I want to know what Musk has been discussing with Russian officials, whether those conversations had anything to do with the Starlink disruptions, and what the Trump Administration knew.

All Souls' Day It was All Souls' Day, and in the blue dusk light, carrying a lantern, Old Fox walked down to the churchyard. A barn owl called down from the tower, and was answered somewhere in the trees. Leaves cloaked the paths between the yews and the tombs and the lichen-mottled stones, and by the wall which edged the village green, white and violet Michaelmas daisies were drooping in the mist. Then, as though called by a silent bell, one by one they came. They stood patiently by their graves, in crinolines and houppelandes, delicate white muslins and fiery red satins. There were sailors and fishermen, seamstresses and sail-makers, judges and fruit pickers, architects and school teachers, farmers and stone masons, little cubs and bright-eyed, giggling children and rows of the ancient with their sticks of thorn. In one corner, shaded by a friendly old oak, a family of badgers, as close-knit in death as in life. Around one tall cross, soldiers stood, laughing and sharing cigarettes. A grand and very decayed tomb was flanked by a beautiful lady holding hands with a knight in half-armour, and a tall grey-eyed wolf sat sternly next to an ivy-wreathed angel, wings weathered by a hundred frosts. Old Fox went to each in turn, greeting them and listening to stories he had heard over countless years and those fresh and green in the telling. Many were dear friends. Some had messages for the living; others, older, fainter in form, tried to tell of the place of the fixed stars where they dwelt, but there were no words to carry their meaning. Old Fox, however, well-versed in ancient and high things, understood all, and as he moved slowly between the graves, lantern steady in the fog, he distributed such comfort and kindness and mercy, that not one soul felt forgotten or lost or small, however lonely or inconsequential they had felt in life, however brief their time. When he left, he turned back as he pulled the gate shut, and for a brief moment, an uneven scatter of rush-lights seem to flicker in the darkness, and then they were gone, as though they had never been.

Her father sided with russia. She escaped occupied Crimea — and now builds drones for the Ukrainian military. Meet Polina Kustariova, 21, from Kerch, occupied Crimea. She was just nine when russia occupied her hometown. Her father, a former Ukrainian serviceman, joined the russian side. Her family supported the occupation. But Polina never abandoned Ukraine. She secretly learned Ukrainian, waited until she turned 18, and escaped. Her journey through Kazakhstan, Turkey and Moldova took months. Even proving her Ukrainian citizenship was a struggle. In December 2025, she finally reached Kyiv. Her first message to her mother, sent with a photo from Maidan Square, said it all: “Mom, I'm in Ukraine. You can start freaking out now.” Today, Polina works as a drone engineer and instructor, building UAVs for Ukraine’s Armed Forces. She is also preparing to join the military. Her dream is to return to Kerch — not as she left it, but carrying the Ukrainian flag. She had to fight her way home. Now she is helping Ukraine fight for its freedom.

“But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is not the God of the dead but of the living.” Matthew 22:31-32 In CHRIST, they are alive.
