What type of assessment do you have a lot of success with? "Ongoing formative assessment through observation, data collection, visuals, and task analysis. I look for growth over time and celebrate small successes." #ape #pe #UPE

What is your favorite #APE, #PE, #UPE activity to teach & why? #Bowling is one of the most naturally inclusive activities I teach because every student can experience success while working on balance, coordination, targeting, communication, and social skills.
10
What is your #PE, #APE, or #UPE Superpower? Seeing possibilities where others see barriers. I love taking an activity that seems inaccessible and finding ways to modify equipment, rules, environments, or instruction so every student can participate meaningfully.
11
What is the most essential piece of equipment? "A soft, versatile ball. It sounds simple, but a ball can be adapted for any learner, skill level, or activity. It can be used to teach locomotor skills, object control, social interaction, communication, teamwork, and recreation."

Cup-Stacking Relay with Justin Lund filled with visuals on the TV, color-matching floor spots, raised platforms for a student using a wheelchair, and tons of adult support! :) Bonus- add scooters for even more fun! #Adaptober #adaptedpe #ape #cupstacking #physed

We love soccer and soccer golf! We use large inflated soccer balls, leafblower and switches (using our foot to press the button for *gentle* kickers lol) and ramps (baskets help hold a larger ball)- even the ramp on the playground! ⚽️⚽️⚽️ #fcpsPE #adaptedPE

What is your favorite PE/APE/UPE activity to teach and why? "Striking over a net with an implement, it is a joyful activity and every student can access the skill with accommodations to the implement, object being struck, net, boundaries, and/or rules"

What is your PE, APE, or UPE Superpower? Making student feel comfortable in whatever space we are in and whatever task we are working on. Bottom line, I want them to know that it is ok if the work is hard - that is how we grow - and I will be there to help if they need assistance
