They won’t be unmoved by this negative publicity. Ratcliffe himself said he’d be out if the tide turns. Only have to look at the company’s social media to see it’s all about man united now. Sporting success was meant to take attention away from the underlying business.
More broadly … Ineos has basically built an empire of chemical assets which have slowly moved up the cost curve over time. They are uncompetitive because they have failed to move with the times. Invest abroad or move downstream. Their current business depends on exogenous shocks like the Russia/Ukraine or Iran. Nothing is in their control…
…It’s a literal metaphor for what’s going on at United. A lack of decisive planning. No forward thinking to be ahead of your competitors. A total reliance on luck and Bruno Fernandes.

In cycling, Oscar Onley continues to impress at La Vuelta, sitting 5th in the General Classification and leading the Young Rider classification in the White Jersey after Stage 15. At the Tour of Britain, @NetcompanyINEOS finished 3rd overall, with Filippo Ganna securing 2nd in the General Classification.
Coming up this week La Vuelta concludes on the 13th, Mercedes head to Madrid for the Spanish Grand Prix, OGC Nice travel to Auxerre, Lausanne host Servette. and Manchester United's men's team faces Manchester City whilst the women's team face Chelsea.

Sometimes people forget that Ratcliffe is also overseeing a structurally impaired, uncompetitive chemicals business. The article mentions tariffs, but the business has suffered for years as a result of cheap Chinese exports. Arguably Ineos haven’t moved quickly enough to mitigate the decline (as has been the case with the rest of the European chemicals sector). Make no mistake, this increases the chances Ineos monetise the Man United stake in the next 5 yrs irrespective of perf on thr pitch
Henry’s tactical analysis is head and shoulders above the class of 92 brain trust and the rest. Rarely an agenda just a good dose of tactics and footy. What you pay for.
Have a feeling Dorgu will be v important if United are to get back to their best. Utility player, puts a proper shift in and can contribute with a goal or an assist when most needed. Not a starter but could end up being a big game player. Only 21 as well. Could be a modern day park / valenica
This is true. They have a very good first XI when all fit and available. 1 game a week, other teams struggling. You just needed someone to keep things simple and do the basics very well. No need for a rockstar manager. Board should have moved after the Grimsby match. Most Utd fans were of this view back then which makes the decisions even more baffling. Huge opp missed. Hopefully they finish strong and carry the positivity in to next season, something we’ve not had for a while

Lenny Yoro is one player who could be an underrated beneficiary from a shift to a back 4. Played his best football as a traditional Cb for Lille. Basically playing 2 positions at once when at Rcb, especially if Amad plays outside him. Still v young, so will be interesting to see him in a more familiar position
