Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor womanβs final radio calls.
That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching.
I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraftβs maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee.
Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

This is co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras taking off in the very Learjet 60 N722BD that crashed yesterday at Greenacres, Palm Beach County, Florida. The 20-year-old aviator earned her private pilot's license at just 17, before even getting her driver's license. She clearly loved aviation from a young age.
Gone far too soon. Ride with the angels, Nathalia.

I knew there were tons of horrible people on here, but today really opened my eyes to how bad it truly is.
Just disappointed.
Well said. The problem with social media is it gives any rando out there a forum to voice an opinion about something they are not qualified to speak on. And then other randos agree with them and then you get misinformation/hate/stupidity that spreads like wildfire
I admit that I want former Air Force pilots to be flying my commercial plane when I travel, but the hate that this poor girl has been getting is inappropriate.
First, we don't know what happened.
Secondly, she worked towards a trade while in high school. That is to be applauded.
Thirdly, many people are mourning losses today. Take a step back and remember your humanity.

Shout out to the people that arenβt fans of the Brewers or the Rays, but theyβre still up at midnight watching the 12th inning of the World Series because it might be the last chance to watch baseball for 5 months. The true baseball fans.

Hard to fathom itβs been 18 years since Robert Doback declined to invest in Prestige Worldwide
The reactions towards gerrit cole is puzzling. He gave up a solo HR and thats it. The pitching was fantastic last night the yankees just couldnt do a thing off rasmussen like thats baseball. Do y'all watch games or do you just come on here to complain and look stupid?
Interesting read and a reminder that the yankees (and every team) always knows more then the twitter doomers do
Both Matt Blake and Aaron Boone said they are starting Gerrit Cole over Carlos RodΓ³n because they "like" Cole at Tropicana Field.
What does that mean? It turns out there's a hidden scientific reason that goes much deeper than the "easy" decision.
