Congratulations to our $10,000 College Showdown winner Houston Brague! Thanks to everyone who entered. You have until Aug 31st to enter our Million Dollar Question sweepstakes at MillionDollarQuestion.org and keep the conversation about affordability going.
It's not free and it's not fair, when the government intervenes with tariffs and policies that cost us money and hold us back. #freetrade #freemarkets
TPMS, back seat monitors, backup cameras, auto stop start--regulations add "features" that you might not want but are definitely paying for. #newcar #affordability
Inflation, tariffs, trade wars, energy prices...every time the government intervenes, things get just a little bit more expensive. How's your wallet? #affordability #inflation #fiscalpolicy
So a government intervention that was supposed to *raise* money ended up being costly and inefficient? You don't say.

That corner market, doesn't represent the free market. Do you know how zoning can impact business location and availability? #zoning #groceryprices #redlining #freemarket
Why don't all Americans help pay for college for the <40% who go? Maybe because college graduates earn 68%-86% more than those who don't? #PayMoreGetMore #Greed #SchoolLoans
There's a shortage of doctors...is that the market or the government talking? #residencycrisis #healthcare
Is regulating ::checks notes:: NIL deals for college athletes really what we pay our representatives to do?
The U.S. Senate passes a sweeping bipartisan bill that would regulate college sports. apnews.com/article/college-s…

America’s healthcare system is often blamed on “the free market,” but much of it is shaped by government policy.
Subsidies and tax breaks are wealth transfers from taxpayers (us) to businesses. Why should we invest in something we're only going to have to buy in the end anyway? Shouldn't shopping there there be enough? #subsidies #debt #governmentspending
Capping interest rates won't make college more affordable-it will just make college loans feel cheaper. Time and time again we see government intervention directly leads to price increases. Can we afford to keep making the same mistake? #studentloans #interestrates #affordability
We are officially in the Giveaway phase of the election cycle. Just remember, the US is $40 Trillion dollars in debt and inflation is at at 3.4%. So the government injecting money it doesn't have into an economy that doesn't need it...maybe not our best plan.
Childcare in America should be free.
The Free Childcare for America Act would make care free for millions of families, pay family or friends who provide care, ensure childcare workers earn a living wage, and provide $1,000/month for parents who stay home.
The government getting involved in the student loan business caused tuition prices to balloon in the first place. Students are going to (increasingly expensive) colleges and getting degrees that don't pay for themselves. Instead of making college more expensive and hiding the costs, let people see the what they are getting and decide for themselves if the debt is acceptable.
No matter what the media calls it. We're still for supporting free markets, free trade, and freedom. #capitalism #semantics #freemarket

Has anyone ever looked around at the middle manager who doesn't know how to do the work but sits in meetings and sends lots of emails to people who do and thought, hey, I wish we had more of those guys?
That's government. Most agencies don't *do* anything, they organize and give (your) money to private industry that does the work.
Should you pay for what you use or should you pay for what your neighbor uses too? #bills #affordability #spending #taxes
