Great work by ME2 Lab member Zach @ZongjianLi1
Our recent work on a new family of electrolytes for Li-ion batteries is published. Kudos to Zach @ZongjianLi1 and Xinying Bi. We found that you don't need EC to make an graphite-compatible electrolyte. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/arti…
Prof. Gao is chairing a symposium on Battery Materials and Technology in the ACS Spring meeting. Come to join this great battery science party!
ME2 Lab kicks off a partnership with NexGen Materials to develop a novel electrochemical process to extract lithium, the most critical material for a green economy.@UUtah @UtahCoE @UtahChemE
PhD student Ms. Jing Liu is awarded a competitive Graduate Research Fellowship. Congrats, Jing! @UUtah @UtahCoE @UtahChemE. gradschool.utah.edu/funding/…
PhD student Ms. Jing Liu is featured by Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute for her amazing work on a low-cost battery based on iron metal. Congrats, Jing! @UUtah @UtahCoE @UtahChemE. lassonde.utah.edu/a-new-batt…

Proud to be named as a #HighlyCitedResearchers2022 by @ClarivateAG together with other colleague at @UUtah @UtahCoE. Thanks all co-authors. Full list is here.clarivate.com/highly-cited-r…
Congrats to Dr. Gao for being recognized as the 2022 Rising Star of Science.
thrilled to be awarded as the 2022 Rising Star of Science by research.com. I am among the top 100 most cited young researchers in United States and the top 300 globally. @UUtah @UtahChemE @UtahCoE
Dr. Gao will organize a symposium on Materials, mechanisms and methods for electrochemical energy storage in ACS Spring 2023. Cal for papers!
Dr. Gao successfully organized and chaired a symposium on Battery Materials and Interfaces in ACS Fall 2022 in Chicago!
Dr. Gao just attended the NSF @NSF MPS workshop in DC on proposal writing and reviewing. Safe trip back to salt lake!
Jing’s work is highlighted by ACS central science
NEW #ASAP
A team at the University of Utah, @TaoGao2020 @JingLLLLLLL @ME2_Lab, discovered a new electrolyte that can enable extremely low-cost and safe Fe metal batteries to store renewable electricity @UtahCoE go.acs.org/1dk
They said "Excitingly, the inclusion of these inexpensive and abundant chloride salts dramatically increases the Coulombic efficiency","thereby paving the way for the future development of long-life aqueous Fe metal batteries"
Replying to @ACSCentSci
@ACSCentSci wrote a commentary on our latest work on Fe metal batteries.pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
Graduate student Jing Liu published a paper in ACS central science on low-cost iron battery. Congrats, Jing!
@JingLLLLLLL. @TaoGao2020. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
Dr. Gao is invited to join the Young Editorial Board for Battery Energy, an open-access journal by Wiley that focuses on research articles spanning materials, chemistry and engineering for battery research.
Our collaborative work with Prof.Ju Li at MIT and Prof. David Ji at OSU is published in Advanced Materials. This work reports a new proton battery that can fill the gap between supercapacitor and Li-ion battery. Check out more details here.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…
Congrats to Jing Liu @JingLLLLLLL for winning this prestigious Energy Prize! The lab needs to celebrate this with beer! 🍻
Congratulations! The @UUtah Graduate School has awarded the annual Garr Cutler Energy Prize to two College of Engineering students: Blake Billings and Jing Liu, both are #ChemicalEngineering students and each is receiving $1,500. 🎉
