We started this series to show more of the thinking behind MERC.
We’ve covered:
- Issuer access + economics
- Holder participation + benefits
- RWA Market Launches
- Cross-market relevance
- The MERC flywheel
This is the foundation. We’ll keep building from here.
MORE RWA MARKETS CREATE MORE MERC RELEVANCE.
That’s the design principle behind the roadmap as Mercury RWA expands.
Over the last five weeks, we’ve broken the MERC roadmap into individual pieces.
Put it together:
More issuers → more RWA markets → more MERC relevance → more holder participation → stronger network → more issuers.
Every new RWA market should raise the same question:
What new MERC benefit or capability can this market create?
That’s one of the standards guiding the roadmap.
Launch markets, not tokens.
Every new institutional issuer and RWA market creates another opportunity for MERC relevance to expand.
A new private-credit market, for example, could create holder benefits around discovery, research, issuer access, enhanced data, marketplace credits or launch-specific participation.
Crypto platforms have often connected their tokens to new token launches.
Mercury RWA gives us a different model.
Tomorrow we’ll unpack a phrase we’ve been using internally:
Launch markets, not tokens.
For token holders participating on the platform, the roadmap is taking shape around around a MERC membership model that is broader than the asset issuer's model we introduced last week.
Not one isolated benefit, rather, a growing set of benefits tied to participation across Mercury RWA.
That can include:
- RWA Market Launch benefits
- Research + market data
- Issuer briefings
- Membership / fee tiers
- Marketplace credits
- Portfolio tools
A MERC requirement only matters if something meaningful sits behind it.
The real roadmap question isn’t just:
“How much MERC should an issuer hold?”
It’s:
“What access, economics and capabilities should that participation unlock?”
For institutional issuers, one of the strongest roles MERC can play is as part of the platform relationship itself.
Think less “token perk” and more digital marketplace membership.
That can mean MERC participation tied to:
- Platform access
- Institutional tiers
- Better fee economics
- Marketplace credits
- Data/API privileges
- Reporting and support
- Benefits for launching additional markets
