دفتر بنیاد احمدشاه مسعود در آسترالیا امروز ۲ فروردین/حمل ۱۴۰۱ با اشتراک مدیران و نماینده‌گان سازمان‌های دولتی و غیر دولتی استرالیایی و شماری از نماینده‌گان جامعه افغانستانی در ناحیه‌ی غربی شهر سدنی استرالیا گشایش یافت. این بنیاد در استرالیا که در بخش‌های خدمات آموزشی، بهداشتی ۱/۵
Afghanistan is not forgotten — and that gives us hope.
We welcome and appreciate the initiative by Australia, Germany, Canada and the Netherlands to pursue accountability for Afghanistan under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), addressing the systematic discrimination and violations of the fundamental rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.
International solidarity, sustained advocacy and meaningful action are essential to ensuring that those responsible are held accountable and that the people of Afghanistan are not abandoned.

For the first time, we successfully commemorated the 25th anniversary of the martyrdom of Afghanistan’s National Hero, Ahmad Shah Massoud, in Adelaide, South Australia.
The event was hosted by the Afghan Communities Council of Australia, together with the wider Afghanistan diaspora community of South Australia.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all the volunteers, organisations, community leaders, and distinguished speakers whose dedication and support made this important and meaningful commemoration possible.
This gathering was not only an opportunity to honour the memory and legacy of Ahmad Shah Massoud, but also to bring the Afghanistan communities together in remembrance, solidarity, and reflection.
Our sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this historic occasion possible.

در سال هاى مقاومت اول علیه طالبان، زمانی که جنرال-قونسل افتخاری افغانستان در آسترالیا بودم، در کنار فعالیت‌هاى ديگر، با حمایت یونسکو هر سال مسابقات بزرگ ادبی و هنری برای کودکان و جوانان برگزار می‌کردیم كه پاسخى در برابر فرهنگ ستيزى طالبان بود.
در سال ۱۳۷۸ (١٩٩٩)، بسته‌ای سنگین پستى از کابل به دستم رسید؛ درون آن حدود ۳۰ اثر مینیاتوری ناب و اصل بود، يكى آن همین تابلو فرمانده عمومی مقاومت، احمدشاه مسعود. هنرمند جوان نوشته بود: "این آثار را می‌فرستم چون بیم دارم به دست طالبان افتد و آن‌ها را به‌خاطر تصاوير جاندار بسوزانند. خواهش دارم در مسابقات شامل‌شان کنید."
هویت هنرمند از طريق برادرش در خارج تثبیت شد؛ جوانى مستعد فارغ دانشگاه کابل بود. هيئت ارزيابى آثارش را وارد رقابت كرد و او برنده يك جایزه ویژه شد. بعدها نمایشگاهی از این آثار در موزیم کنبرا برگزار شد و فروش آن‌ها هزینه عروسی‌اش را در کابل تأمین کرد. چند اثر را نیز خود ما خريديم.
با تأسیس سفارت افغانستان در کنبرا در سال ۲۰۰۲، مينياتورى هايش زینت‌بخش دهلیز سفارت شدند. دو نیم ماه پیش، قبل از تعلیق فعالیت ٢٤ ساله سفارت، سفیر آقای ویسی این تابلوى قهرمان ملى را به من نشان داد و تصمیم بر آن شد که تا فعال شدن دوباره سفارت، این اثر نزد بنیاد مسعود در آسترالیا نگهداری شود.
خرسندم که شنبه گذشته، در همایش بزرگ بیست‌وپنجمین سالروز شهادت قهرمان ملی در شهر سدنى آستراليا، در ختم سخنرانى ام این اثر ارزشمند را به رئیس بنیاد مسعود در آسترالیا، آقای بلال وحید، تسلیم کردم…و مقاومت فرهنگى ادامه دارد!

بیست‌وپنج سال از شهادت احمدشاه مسعود می‌گذرد؛ اما نام او، اندیشه او و آرمان او همچنان در رگ‌های مقاومت و آزادی‌خواهی این سرزمین زنده است.
مسعود تنها یک نام در تاریخ نیست؛ عهدی‌ست با آزادی، عزت و استقلال افغانستان؛ عهدی که برای من از هر میراثی سنگین‌تر و از هر مسئولیتی مقدس‌تر است.
راهی که او آغاز کرد، تا آزادی افغانستان ادامه خواهد یافت.

نشست «افغانستان پنج سال زیر حاکمیت طالبان: حقوق بشر، مسوولیت بین‌المللی و چشم‌اندازهای آینده» در دانشگاه وسترن سیدنی برگزار شد.
