My landlord recently increased our office rent from 700k to 1.2m.
All the tenants contested it, but at the end of the day the rent has to stand.
Today I sent one of my staff to the ENSAA office to get the quotation and the right to mount a billboard at my office.
He went and came back to tell me, "Sir, they said it's 150k." I was like, "How?" He said he can't lie to me na.
50k for inspection and 150k for the billboard, which means I am going to pay 200k and I will be paying 150k yearly for just having billboard.
This is not the amount you'd spend on making the billboard.
Other taxes are not included oooo.
If I list the tax we pay in this Enugu, it would shock you. Yes, paying tax helps the state develop, but tax should be easier to pay.
It has never been like this before.
I have decided not to stay silent on this issue, not because it has affected me, but because people need to know why rent and the price of things keep increasing, especially in Enugu.
