Seeing this image hits differently when you really stop and look at it.
So many countries were once colonised under the same flag.
Years passed. Struggles happened. Independence came.
And the first thing many of them did was change the flag.
Some countries removed the Union Jack completely.
Some kept a piece of it.
Some are still debating what growing up really means.
And then there’s Australia… still asking the question.
Grown-up nations don’t share their flags with anyone.
They design their own.
London taught me one thing very clearly:
You can honour the past without living in it.
