A plaque outside Hexham's Moot Hall commemorates the 'Hexham Riot' of 9th March 1761, exactly 264 years ago, when some 50 people died. Someone left a vase of flowers there today - a nice touch. In 2004, the plaque was unveiled by #Hexham Mayor Ingrid Whale after a re-enactment.
