Our role in the Hinode mission was to lead the team that provided the EIS telescope. A model of which still looms over us in our meeting room:
MSSL celebrated International Women’s Day early this year with the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee hosting a quiz on topics related to women in history, science, astronomy and space, a slide show showcasing women at MSSL and, of course, coffee/tea and cake!

Every year, we celebrate the winners of the Department of Space and Climate Physics Awards. This year's ceremony also highlighted support for the Anti-Bullying Week theme "Power for Good”: empowering people to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt of bullying.
MSSL’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) committee promoted Anti-Bullying Week (10th -14th November 2025) with the interactive activity “The Gray Zone of Academic Ethics”, as part of Unjournal Club with tea, coffee and cake.
Our latest @MSSL_Planetary graduate Cristian Radulescu passed his PhD viva today. Thesis on 'Heavy ion distribution and influence on the Saturnian magnetosphere', using Cassini data & simulations. Many thanks to examiners David Burgess (QMUL) & Colin Forsyth. Well done Cristian!
