This is one of the most interesting reveals today: Copilot Fusion on GitHub Copilot. It offers roughly the intelligence of Opus 5.5 at 50% less cost. A truly impressive achievement. Kudos @github

The @github engineering team built a best-in-class, truly multi-model harness, which we've implemented across Microsoft products. Introducing Microsoft Copilot harness in Foundry Agent Service, a simpler way to build agents without rebuilding the execution layer. It handles orchestration, tools, context, and controls so you can focus on your agent’s skills and outcomes. Watch @jeffhollan's demo to see it in action.

Frontier performance at a fraction of the cost. In the @ArtificialAnlys Coding Agent Index, Copilot Fusion Max scored within two points of Claude Code with Opus 5.5 Max at about half the API cost per task. Get 30% off through Nov. 30. Try it now. ⬇️ docs.github.com/copilot/conc…

Last week in Cologne I showed how you can use the GitHub Copilot App and Foundry to build an agent you can deploy across Teams, Outlook or an app of your choice. I also showed how you can integrate our new Decision 1 model for intent classification. I'm interested in agents that can recognise intent and then take action independetly if they decide they can be helpful, so this was fun to show!

GPT-6.1 Terra from @OpenAIDevs is now available in GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Foundry. It's designed for everyday agentic coding and terminal work, with focused execution on well-scoped tasks at a lower cost than GPT-6.1 Sol.

Generating code is getting easier. Knowing whether to trust it is the hard part. Microsoft engineers share how they combine agents, testing, and formal verification to validate changes across massive codebases, including C/C++ to Rust migrations. commandline.microsoft.com/ag…

1.2B users. ~40 regions. Single-digit-millisecond latency. One team. @AzureCosmosDB and @OpenAIDevs engineers scaled it together. Read the story 👇
We serve data in milliseconds to more than 1.2 billion users across 40 geographic regions. To reach that scale, we worked closely with @AzureCosmosDB on our storage architecture, achieving a 12x improvement in global median read latency.

AI agents are writing more code. How can developers ensure that code is correct? Microsoft Research’s Proof-Driven Development (PDD) Kit explores a more rigorous approach: it translates a developer’s intent into a formal specification, then uses formal verification to prove that generated code meets it. PDD Kit works with Verus for Rust and is integrated with @GitHubNext’s Chopin, bringing formal methods into an AI-assisted development workflow for teams. See the work in action at @github Universe, Oct. 28–29, 2026.
