Amorim and Carrick were given two completely different jobs.
Amorim was brought in to implement a style of play - to reset habits, build structure, and change the identity of the team.
That takes time. It also costs points in the short term.
Carrick, on the other hand, is here for six months with one clear objective: get United into the Champions League. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Short-term coaching is about maximising points.
Long-term coaching is about building something sustainable.
That’s why Carrick can collect more points with the same players Amorim was rebuilding.
Amorim refused to take the easy route - sitting deep, playing safe, chasing quick fixes. He stuck to the process even when it hurt him.
Some fans look at the table.
Others look at the direction.
That’s the difference.

Michael Olise got 296 points ?? This Balon D’Or is turning into Popular D’Or because no one in that top 5 deserves that spot more than Michael Olise.
Messi fans have been crying because Ronaldo won the B.O.A.T on fan voting but see what Journalists are doing this to beautiful sport.
The Michael Olise I watched last season should have had more points than Messi and finished ahead of him, but of course, it’s legit now because Messi is on top.

Have never thought a day would come that a world class player will be allowed to go and an average Maguire, Dalot, Shaw, will have their contract renewed.
I simply don’t know how we’re planning to compete with best teams when we’re letting our best players go. Welcome to Man Utd
🚨 BREAKING: Lisandro Martínez is expected to LEAVE Manchester United and a departure in January is also a POSSIBILITY.
FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid are positioning themselves to sign him. @edu17burgos @diarioas 🧨🧨

We are always good on paper until the actual football starts.
I will be there tomorrow.
I’ve seen most Carrick Sexuals talk about forgiving Carrick if he wins Chelsea and I wasn’t surprised because I was expecting that.
If Carrick manages to win Chelsea, which I don’t think is possible, they would be all over him again like winning 2 games in 9 is a good thing. I guess it’s the standards they already referred to.
I’ve said this over and over again; I don’t expect anything good from people who said they don’t care about performances as long as we win.
Obviously, their interpretation of good performances is on the results and not on the actual on-pitch performances.

In the upcoming days, you will start seeing Media briefing on potential signings.
Don't take it to heart, it's just to distract us from Michael Carrick, Wilcox and GLNEOS.
It is pr Time and the Masters are on their game

Did you consider those things when Amorim was here last season and some players were injured or unavailable?
I don’t have any problem if he stays, all I know is that the more he stays, the more he gets exposed.
All I need from Carrick is a team performance that’s worth backing.
Context matters a lot, and people hate to admit it. But considering everything that happened towards the end of the transfer window, I think Carrick deserves some slack.
Losing Casemiro, Baleba missing games through injury, Kobbie Mainoo being unavailable, De Ligt not being fit, and Sesko being injured since May, only to return and get injured again, are all factors worth considering.
Personally, I think tomorrow’s early kick-off against Chelsea is where our season starts, and that’s when I’ll begin judging him properly.
I listened to what Tielemans and some of the other players had to say about Michael Carrick, and I must admit, he might stay here and build this team.

The Ballon d’Or has lost its credibility because performances no longer seem to matter as much as popularity, PR and personal bias. When journalists vote for their favourites instead of judging football objectively, what credibility does the award have left?

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone defending this MIDBLOCK CRAP from Michael Carrick but I want to ask you this; WHY IS MANCHESTER UNITED THE TEAM SITTING BACK AND NOT COMO??!!
You guys don’t really understand what Bruno Fernandes said in that interview, did you?? I will do worse if I was Bruno Fernandes cos I’m not sitting back against a team that hasn’t played Champions league in their life.
When you play a side good with possession and good on the ball, you can never make them uncomfortable by sitting deep. As a matter of fact, that’s what they need you to do. And when you let them have the ball a lot, they punish you! Fabregas expected Carrick to sit deep and that was what Carrick did and that was the reason we lost terribly.
The only way to destruct their ball flow and hurt their confidence is by pressing them and I don’t mean pressing with 3 players, I mean pressing as a Unit. The kind of pressing that brings Maguire and Martinez in the midfield (Just like we saw Under Amorim).
Carrick was never getting a counter attack opportunity against that Como side because what they had on the ball was more than just confidence. We would have lost whether Bruno did this or not. I’m not pointing a finger at Bruno for wanting to escape from the shackles of such football without pointing 5 fingers at Carrick, because no top club does that
Bruno Fernandes may have been wrong for disobeying the coach and going out of instructions but He’s not the reason we lost to Como in such a way; Carrick is!! And whether we like it or not, this is not a pattern for Manchester United in 2026.
MANCHESTER UNITED CANNOT BE SITTING BACK AGAINST ANY TEAM; THIS IS MY BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH MICHAEL CARRICK!!
I’ve said this before and I will keep saying it;
Bruno Fernandes is the main reason why our midfield is always weak and leaking, he’s the main reason why we always go out of shape for years now..
Leave favoritism out of this and try understand how tactics works in formation and how one tactically indisciplined player can ruin it
