I spoke briefly with @AJEnglish's @FemiOke today. A GOI representative speaking after me commented- “timing of domicile law was in bad taste”.
It is not the "timing" that is despicable. There is never a good time for an evil and/or illegal act.

Thread- this year’s @whtrust_ox scholars’ debate - held at Oxford Union debating chamber, chaired by @TFletcher @HertfordCollege. Prop- @nandita_venky Andres, me & Taf successfully defended the motion 'Social media has no rt to ban politicians' @MansfieldOxford @StEdmundHall
My rebuttals and initial comments opposing the creation of an opaque system that can make judgments on a public conversation - Judgments that are not guided by a sense of equity or justice but by power and profit.
Kai, from Jamaica, representing team opposition highlighted the level of influence that politicians exert, the amplification of that influence on social media, and gave examples of how this is a deadly combination.
Nandita for side proposition started by discussing the culpability of social media in aligning with power, with examples of how social media has taken down posts critical of the Indian government, while allowing hate speech against Muslims and Christians in India.
For 8 weeks, my philosophy professor at Oxford spoke to us about John Stuart Mill, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, John Locke, John Rawls, Jeremy Bentham and John Maynard Keynes. That's when I got the idea that if your first name starts with J you've got it made in Western philosophy.

One night before Eid, Muslims around the world look to the skies to find the moon and celebrate.
One night before Eid, Palestine looks to the skies to see missiles coming down, obliterating their homes.
Invisible Muslims?
InvestJK, initiative of J&K govt, invites investment while misrepresenting that population of Jammu as well as Kashmir is "predominantly Hindu"
"Places to visit" only lists temples- no mention of mosques, gurudwaras or churches.
Kashmir region is 97% Muslim.
They refer to the 2011 census for their data. However, the same census found Hinduism to be a majority in just 4 out of 22 districts in J&K- Samba, Kathua, Udhampur and Jammu amounting to 28% of the total population.

<Jacob you are stealing my house.
>But if I don't steal it someone else will. So what's the problem?
<The state oppresses people in Kashmir.
>The state oppresses people everywhere in India. So what's the problem?
A thief believes everyone steals. That's how they sleep at night.
India's Prime Minister illegally locked up 8 million Kashmiris for months under curfew & s144 restriction orders, because he desperately needed it for his electoral popularity.
But he is unable to enforce a lockdown in his home state, even when all Indians desperately need it.
