Murasu update - Innum Konjam dip venum

The weather models have shifted the projected landfall location considerably southwards, now bringing the crossing area closer to the Kavali belt in Andhra Pradesh.
The cyclone heading towards South Andhra is now almost certain. However, f Murasu crosses around Nellore or slightly south of Nellore, then KTCC (Chennai) is unlikely to miss out on the dense rain bands. In fact, Chennai is now firmly in the rainfall zone, with rains expected as the system approaches and crosses the coast from later tonight to tomorrow morning.. But it will miss the heaviest rains (refer 2nd image) which falls between Sriharikota and Nellore. So innum konjam dip aana, pa group will be happy.

Cyclone Murasu is in the making, as indicated in my earlier post. If the system intensifies into a cyclone, the bulk of the heavy rainfall is likely to occur along the South and Central Andhra Pradesh coast.
Chennai & Tiruvallur: Being close to the Andhra coast, Chennai and Tiruvallur districts can expect moderate rainfall on November 2 and 3. In particular, the Ponneri–Gumidipoondi–Pulicat belt has a good chance of receiving rainfall.
Other parts of North Tamil Nadu: Some spells of rainfall are also possible on November 2 and 3 due to the pull effect of the system. Gusty storms possible in interiors.
Overall, the main rainfall activity is likely to remain over the South and Central Andhra coast, while North Tamil Nadu, particularly the KTCC region, can expect moderate spells.
