Deep love for God does not grow out of spiritual instinct alone. Our affections are shaped by what we know to be true of Him. If we are to fear Him rightly, trust Him deeply, worship Him sincerely, and obey Him faithfully, the mind must first be taught who He is and what He has revealed. Jesus said, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3).
This is why doctrine matters so much. Theology is not an academic hobby for people who enjoy arguments. It is the disciplined effort to know God according to His own revelation. The more clearly we understand His holiness, sovereignty, justice, mercy, wisdom, faithfulness, and grace, the more substance our worship has. Paul prayed that believers would receive “a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him,” with the eyes of their hearts enlightened (Ephesians 1:17–18).
Scripture repeatedly connects spiritual transformation with the renewal of the mind. Paul writes, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2). Our desires do not become holy simply because we feel intensely. They are reshaped as truth enters the mind, exposes false ideas, corrects our thinking, and teaches us to see God, ourselves, sin, Christ, and eternity as Scripture presents them.
Of course, a person can know a great deal of theology and remain proud, cold, and untouched. Paul warns that “knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies” (1 Corinthians 8:1). Information can sit in the mind without ever bending the knee. Demons possess accurate knowledge about God and tremble (James 2:19). Biblical knowledge reaches its proper end when the truth we understand drives us toward worship, repentance, obedience, and love.
Yet we should never respond to dead intellectualism by distrusting the mind. We cannot love a God we refuse to know. We cannot worship Him faithfully while remaining careless about His character. And we cannot recognize error if our understanding has never been shaped by Scripture. David prayed, “Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from Your law” (Psalm 119:18).
The Christian life therefore requires both careful thought and deep affection. As the Word of God fills the mind, the Holy Spirit uses that truth to reshape the heart. The more clearly we see God as He has revealed Himself, the more reason we have to stand in awe, to love Him, to trust Him, and to give Him the obedience He deserves.
I am sure that the wine barrels make a lovely cocktail table under the Hunter Biden artwork.

What I'm getting ready to show you should make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. If you know your Bible, you will recognize it immediately.
The same spirits you read about in the Bible are still at work TODAY.

Voters tend not to turnout for midterms because historically the difference between the two parties has been functionally negligible--it's always been like choosing between Coke or Pepsi.
This year it's like choosing between drinking a glass of Coke or a glass of Drano drain cleaner.
Folks who don't stay up on politics simply are unaware that the Democrat Party has been absorbed by a Communist/Jihadist alliance bent on destroying the Constitution and the American way of life.
You might not like Coca-Cola. But drinking Drano will end your life.

No business owner is entitled to below market rates for labor. Not farmers, home builder, tech company , restaurant, hotel, nursing home, hospital, factory, maid service, or slaughterhouse. Deport all illegal foreigners and let market wages adjust higher till American workers accept. Prices for goods and services will be volatile till supply and demand are in balance. American culture needs to adjust to praise hard work instead of looking down on those who do.

And the IRS handed out the non profit status and now protects those entities from oversight. Tell me how they aren’t corrupt?
@nickshirleyy found the fraud and the $10b a year IRS couldn’t? If it’s true they couldn’t then they are useless and we don’t need to spend $11b of our money. We pay them to haunt ordinary Americans when we see trillions a year stolen from us? We pay for this?
The IRS needs to go. It’s corrupted or it’s incompetent. Either way it’s hurting America.
😳

George Washington, in his farewell address, said that of all the habits that lead to a nation’s prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.
He warned against anyone who claimed patriotism while tearing those down.
He wasn’t making a policy point. He was telling us what holds the whole thing up.
A free people answers to God first.
Everything else follows from that.
Where are we as a society without God?

That means higher taxes, open borders, men in women’s sports, transgender surgeries on children, higher energy prices, less jobs, lower wages, more government fraud, and a hell of a lot less freedom!

many years ago, some goofus coined the phrase "the customer is always right."
this is a singularly stupid idea.
the customer is often wrong. the customer is often a jerk or even a crook.
pretense to patronage does not alter this.
anyone determined to make believe that customer demand represents some sort of truth standard is a mug and a mark and will be eaten alive by thieves, karens, and the socially maladapted.
i know new england well. i know ice cream stands like this. they tend to be staffed by nice, local kids from the neighborhood, often as summer jobs. places like this are pleasant and are meant for pleasant people.
it's one thing to say "excuse me, this is not what i ordered, can we fix that?"
but abusing the kids who work at a place like this constitutes failing a character test.
and this owner is exactly right: beat it. we don't need or want you. you're bringing down the tone. go be a jerk somewhere else.
karens and DEI are all the same praxis: "yowl about being wronged until someone gives you free stuff." "my being offended is your problem" (and i am always offended) "it's never you, it's always someone else who must give."
it's long past time that this whole age of "whoever acts most performatively aggrieved must be accommodated" came to an end.
people like that need to be told to get lost.
we don't negotiate with terrorists.
and this is the way.
who wants ice cream?
