これはReddit株価だけの問題じゃなくて、インターネット崩壊の合図って話なんだよな。
意外と注目されていないがヤバい。
何故かというと、今までのネットってのは取引で成り立ってて、サイト側はGoogleに中身をタダで読ませる。
代わりにGoogleは検索結果から人を送り返す。その人が広告を見て、サイトが稼ぐ。無料で読める記事も、掲示板も、ブログも、全部この交換の上に乗ってる。
で、現状から未来ってのは、ChatGPTだったりClaudeだったりがネット検索して答えだけ出してくれるし、GoogleもAIが検索画面で答えるようになった。
AIは中身を読むが、その見なかった分の人は送り返してくれない。本屋で立ち読みをしている状態と似ている、多分。
それが全員になったらどうなるか？確実に店は潰れる。
Redditはそれが数字で見えた最初の大きい例で、
決算は売上53%増で好調だったのに、Googleからの流入が減って利用者が10%以上減る見通しを出した瞬間に29%落ちたんだよな。
しかもRedditは自分の投稿データをGoogleにAIの学習用として売っていたから、自分で育てたAIに客を取られたというなんとも惨い結果になってしまってる。
そこからRedditが考えて出した答えが「ログインしないと中身を見せない」という仕組み。
これがインターネットの次の段階で、情報だけ抜いて人を送り返してもらえないなら、中身を開けておく理由がない。だからもうシャットアウトすることになった。
Redditが閉めたら、同じ状況のサイトは全部後に続いて閉めていくに決まっている。
そうなると不都合が生じるのは誰が考えてもわかると思う。しかも困るのはAIだ。AIが出す答えの元ネタは人間が開かれたネットに書いた文章。そのネットをAI自身が閉じるように動いている。自分の餌場を自分で潰している構造とそっくりなんだよな。
このニュースはRedditの株が落ちたって話じゃなくて「人の為に書いて人が来る、それで食っていける」っていう、ネットが30年回してきた仕組みが壊れたって話なんだよね。将来は誰にも分からないが、既存のネットの仕組みは崩壊が近づいている。
感の良い人はもうそれを予測して、既に動いているのかもしれない。

Well, good news everyone! AI isn't going to replace your jobs at successful companies in the future (if my recent experience with Meta Verified and Meta's AI support is any indication)
Meta's AI help was so useless, I had to pay Meta $11.99 for the "privilege" of getting access to actual human support.
Once I did this, I was told my issue had been resolved (it wasn't) and my support ticket was automatically closed by Meta.
When re-opening the ticket to try and get the issue fixed (again), AI directed me to the existing case's Chat.
That window infinitely loops a blank loading screen and is not accessible on desktop or mobile device.
As I can't access the chat to update my existing case, it shouldn't be a problem to create a new support case to get all of this fixed, right? RIGHT?
Nope - Meta's AI blocks you from creating more than one active support ticket (you might have to pay $22.99 to get that feature? lol) and directs you to go to the previous Chat (that doesn't work).
So I can't chat and AI won't let me talk to anyone to fix that chat or address my existing problem or even create a ticket to ask for a refund for my Meta Verified subscription.
Can you say INFINITE LOOP OF DOOM?
If you read this far, here's the good news: if enough companies implement this bullshit and useless AI for customer service or any other customer-sensitive business function, they are destined to lose any and all customers they interact with. And a business with no customers, well, won't be in business for very long (or so logic dictates).
Fight the power and vote with your dollars people.
These corporations and their billionaire execs who want to replace all their employees with low cost AI agents that simply do not work and are completely useless can go pound sand.
Now, to contact my credit card company and get my $11.99 back (hopefully they are not using Meta's AI 🤣)
