Cathie Wood 'always feels better when the market is worried' — here's why Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood is shrugging off this week's market jitters, telling CNBC on Friday that concerns among investors actually reinforce her optimism that further gains lie ahead. U.S. equities sold off sharply on Thursday, reversing the initial rally seen in the wake of the midterm elections. AI-related stocks led the rout , sending the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite into correction territory. On Friday, tech stocks staged a tentative recovery. @elonmusk @MayorAdams @CNBCnow Source: CNBC Finance

The latest status symbol of the 1% is a third kid. ‘It has become rarer for everyone else,’ says an economist Mike Konczal, vice president of policy and research at the Economic Security Project and a former White House economist, studied households headed by 45- to 64-year-olds in his analysis of the Fed’s Survey of Consumer Finances , pooling five surveys from 2013 through 2025. He found that 49% of top-1% earners have three or more children, compared with about 40% of the rest of the top 10%. Families with four or more kids are about as common in both groups, so the gap comes down to the third child: 34% of the 1% stop at exactly three, versus 24% of the merely affluent. @CNBCnow @RayDalio @BloombergTV Source: Fortune

Deranged twist in case of ex-NYPD cop who allegedly killed jogger Katie Suarez Former Police Officer Sayed Mohassib — a 27-year-old city public-school teacher’s aide — made the maniacal statement after he was nabbed in the Oct. 30 slaying of 28-year-old Katie Suarez, who was out for a jog along the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn when she was stabbed twice in the neck and left to die. Mohassib was tracked down partly thanks to surveillance video that captured him walking toward the crime scene and later running from it in a time sequence that fit the horrific apparently random crime, according to the Brooklyn criminal complaint. @MayorAdams @bradlander @RepGraceMeng Source: NY Post

A New Way To Follow The Mayor's Race I’m reaching out with an update and an invitation. As many of you know, Bklyner has been quiet. Like many of you, I’ve spent the past year thinking about what kinds of conversations we need to have to make New York City a better place to live—and how we can move past political drama and sound bites to focus on real solutions. My focus at Bklyner has been on practical, thoughtful reporting on the issues that shape daily life in this city—housing, transit, public safety, education—at the ground level. @RepRitchie @RepTenney @qcvoice Source: Bklyner Brooklyn

Op-Ed | Another Albany proposal that will raise food prices must earn a Hochul veto New York has always been a food state. The state’s dairy farmers help make New York the nation’s yogurt capital. Its orchards, vineyards, and family farms feed the Northeast. Its grocers, bakeries, and food makers employ thousands of people from Buffalo to Brooklyn. The issue with the bill lies in its targeting of ingredients that have already undergone rigorous and extensive reviews under a system with the resources and expertise required. This bill duplicates what the federal government does, and will cost companies, retailers and consumers a lot of money – and it is still not positioned to improve food safety. @GuggenheimMuseum @Hyperallergic @MoMAps1 Source: AM New York

Why the prognosis for healthcare stocks is uncertain ahead of Congress’ new makeup Jared Holz, who covers healthcare for Mizuho, says the outlook for the sector is uncertain because of likely gridlock between lawmakers. "The next couple of years I really can't see too much happening," the firm's sector specialist told CNBC's " Fast Money " on Wednesday. "I'm not sure you want to own everything, but you can pick and choose the names… Pharma is trading more expensive than tech for the first time in 20 years. So, I backed away from pharma. I would look at medtech." @CNBCnow @Eric Adams @FortuneMagazine Source: CNBC Markets

Single-Owner Sales Dominate a High-Stakes Auction Season in New York Many of the works headed to the block later this month have not been in the public eye for decades or longer, and their arrival in New York represents an opportunity that may not come again for a generation. Year round, the major auction houses compete to secure the season's most valuable consignments. As New York's November marquee sales approach, they finally announce which major private collections will head to the rostrum. With the great wealth transfer in full swing and a timid market consolidating around masterpieces, autumn has brought with it an unusual density of significant single-owner collections, many offering once-in-a-century opportunities to acquire museum-grade works. @WhitneyMuseum @GothamistNYC @NYDailyNews Source: NY Observer
