The @MYANC's governance link The incident: On Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at about 16:21, racing champion Robert Wolk (41) was shot in the back on a grass verge in Esther Park, Kempton Park, after a low-speed bumper-bash. He had stepped out of his Audi to photograph damage for insurance. CCTV shows him going down on the verge; and then the other party leaves. He was declared dead at the scene. As of this morning, there has been no arrest. @SAPoliceService opened a murder docket with the motive as "under investigation." Who he was: Robert Wolk was a multiple SA champion across karting, single-seaters, GTC and touring cars. He was also the 2026 Simola Hillclimb King of the Hill and was due to race in Cape Town. SATC and Motorsport SA called him one of the nicest, most professional people in the sport. The ANC's policy layer connection: The ANC's Firearms Control Act (2000) is one of the strictest civilian gun regimes on earth. Law-abiding people were forced to surrender firearms. The same state then failed to destroy large numbers of those weapons. The documented Prinsloo / SAPS-13 scandal: Thousands of guns meant for destruction were sold into gangs; more than a thousand murders (including children) were later traced to that pipeline.
