Panel after panel said it: every family office needs clear rules, defined roles, independent directors, and a written investment policy. Process, not the person. 2. Succession is about readiness, not a date. Can they lead, do they want to, and does the organisation accept them? 3. Build, buy, or partner depends on your goals. Partner where you lack expertise, and avoid entering new markets headfirst. 4. Letting go needs a clear purpose. Define the objective before an IPO, partial exit, or outside investor, and diversify the proceeds. 5. Family capital is moving to private markets. 90% of Middle East asset owners hold them, averaging nearly 21% of portfolios, which is higher than in the US, Canada, or the UK. 6. Women’s leadership needs real authority, not just seats. Credibility is earned, and clear rules and competence matter more than relationships alone. 7. Fundamentals beat momentum.
