In just 2 years (2019-2021), at least 178 people who called 911 were killed by the responding cops, according to WaPo. The killing of Sonya Massey, a 36 yr old Black woman, is the latest horror demonstrating why police are the antithesis to safety. Policing must be dismantled.

first words Sonya Massey said at her front door were “don’t hurt me” she was told “why would we hurt you, you called us” when have those words meant anything when your black and woman in this country when do those words protect you from not being murdered in your kitchen, in your bedroom, with your babies, or on your lawn what is “reassurance”, in this place ? rest in power Sonya Massey, and an abundance of love and power to Sonya’s family on this journey

there’s a big difference between a couch nap and a bed nap. a couch nap is where you take a subtle little jaunt through your subconscious. a bed nap is where you succumb to the darkness much like an old sign getting engulfed by the bark of a tree
