I see a lot of people fired up that South Carolina was declared a "toss-up" election.
Just a reminder that in 2020, it was also declared a "toss-up." Democrats spent $130 million to boost Jaime Harrison. The polls had it tied.
Democrats lost by 10 points.

NEW: Republican South Carolina Congressman @RalphNorman tells me @NewsNation that he was not invited to the Trump rally today in his home district for Darline Graham and he told me even if he was, he wouldn't have gone.
He tells me he doesn't plan to campaign for Graham before Election Day.

“I don’t know who’s going to win this race, but I will say this,” says @MarkHalperin about Abdul El-Sayed. “We’ve said for weeks since the primary, he hasn’t closed the sale with important constituencies: working class voters, black voters. There’s a week to go. My indications from talking to people on both sides is he hasn’t closed the sale and he literally may not be able to get enough votes to win. I’m not saying that’s going to happen, but it could happen.” @LarryOConnor @KevinPWalling

I usually have them on a split screen but turned it off last week. They are so in the pocket of the DNC it was too infuriating. They don’t even try to be fake fair anymore. Total trash. Thank God for the Morning Meeting!

“There’s a darkness around Republicans,” says @MarkHalperin about the GOP days from Election Day. “It doesn’t mean they’re going to lose, but there’s extreme worry. And it’s not panic the way it was a few weeks ago when they panic, but then they close the gap. It’s darkness. It’s a belief that this thing is probably lost unless the unless the analytics and the polling is just off dramatically-- because their polls aren’t under-including Republicans. Their polls are are right on the money from their point of view.”

“If they do lose Ohio and Kansas, there’s a tsunami of some size here,” says @MarkHalperin about the Republicans in those Senate contests. “They’re going to lose them. So that’s why I say I don’t believe it’s the case any more that it’s 50-50. I think today we can say Democrats are more likely to take the Senate than not.”

“My problem with that lady being press secretary,” says @MarkHalperin about Katie Zacharia, who just appeared on Newsmax casting shade on Sean Hannity, “she showed it in her two Fox interviews. She showed it there. She just gets in the weeds. She doesn’t know how to stay focused on keeping the main thing the main thing — digressions about, ‘Well, Jake Tapper, he’s been good to me’ — She’s not linear.” @LarryOConnor @KevinPWalling

.@MikeRogersForMI tells @BuckSexton that his campaign’s outreach efforts to Jewish and African-American Michigan voters has been a huge success, because everyone knows that Abdul El-Sayed is too extreme for the Senate.
