My friend and former colleague @KatePartridge33 is asking nicely for a bit of help here. If you can spare the time she'd be grateful 🙏🙏🙏
Dear all, my MSc dissertation is on Millwall’s reputation. I’d be very grateful if football fans could please spare a moment to fill in a short questionnaire, which is easy and anonymous. Just click on this link: forms.cloud.microsoft/e/DR8U… Many thanks! ⚽️🙏🏻 @millwallfc #millwall

Gutted for Sanga and his family.
Especially sad as the Ryan family is part Sri Lankan and have done some fantastic philantrophic work on the Island.
Has anyone experienced discriminatory gate personnel @Ryanair in Dublin ? I with my family just did and it was shocking. The tone of address and the mishandling of procedure and threatening behavior. Unacceptable for any passenger. First bad experience in Dublin

Replying to @NorthOneTV
@NorthOneTV as was is sadly no more. The way TV is going sadly. But what a body of work they created. I was part of the @nba @Channel4 years (among many other things) and of course they also gave us Football Italia. Frankly, too much to list but rest assured, it was all gold.

🇱🇰 HISTORY IN THE MAKING TONIGHT? ⚽
Milan Futuro’s 19-year-old defender Nirash Perera is in AC Milan’s first-team squad against Bologna at San Siro.
If he takes the pitch, he’ll officially become the first-ever player of Sri Lankan heritage to play in Serie A.🇱🇰🇮🇹
Spoke to my cousin in New York, said it was absolutely gridlock on the roads in and around Time Square.
We both agreed this could have been avoided if Sadiq Khan hadn't pedestrianised Oxford Street.

@aayushputhran and I went in search of Bumrah...
and were blessed with a beautiful foreword by @afidelf
Best Cricket Book you'll read this year
📚 NEW BOOK RELEASE
The Boom Effect: amazon.in/Boom-Effect-Decodi…
ABOUT THE BOOK
Last year, @brookeswrites and I travelled to Ahmedabad in search of Jassi - the lanky boy from Thaltej who grew up to be ‘Boom’. More than a decade since Jasprit Bumrah’s international debut, the footsteps of his stuttering approach to superstardom remained obscured.
Who coached him? How did that awkward, hyper-extended action come to be? What alchemy allowed him to bowl with such ferocity, from a run-up barely longer than a yard of string? And where did that preternatural calmness come from - the ice-cold composure that never seemed to crack? As the sport increasingly resembled a gentleman’s agreement to let batters prosper, how did he - an unrepentant saboteur of such arrangements - keep finding new ways to be a nuisance?
For most Indian cricketers, mythology begins to calcify within days of their debut. Before long, there are endless interviews, breathless profiles, even biopics. The machinery of hero-worship churns out stories like an all-you-can-eat buffet - shiny new narratives emerge and disappear faster than they can be gobbled up. But Bumrah wilfully let the public starve.
He emerged from Ahmedabad like a magician bursting forth from a cloud of smoke. One day, no one knew his name; the next, his broad smile and splayed limbs were being beamed into living rooms across the world.
With each new discovery, we had newer questions popping up. We came to realize that the lack of any parasocial relationship between Bumrah and his fans, or of any sense of public selfhood, was itself a part of the story.
We tried to find our answers.
A generous foreword by @afidelf
