Just another puppet
She was making $400 a week packing boxes at a spring factory in Tennessee. Then a stranger with a microphone stopped her on a Nashville street, and one dirty joke turned her into the “Hawk Tuah girl.”
Six months later her face was on a crypto coin. On launch day it hit a $490 million market value. Minutes later it had lost more than 90%.
Her name is Haliey Welch. In the video below, she explains why she didn’t just hide: “I seen all these women pretending like they were the girls in the video and they were making money off of it. If they’re making money off of it, I should too.”
So she did. A lawyer, a management team, a podcast, a night on stage with Zach Bryan, a DJ set with Shaq.
Then came the coin. She says she was told it would be so much money she could give half to charity. On launch day, the man running it was pacing the room. “Is that normal? Like why is he acting like that?”
Ten wallets controlled 97% of the supply. People who bought at the top were left holding almost nothing.
Then the messages started. “I’m gonna kill you. I’m gonna kill your family. You’re gonna give me my money back.”
“I don’t have anybody’s money,” she says.
She sent her phone to the SEC for four days. In March 2025 the SEC closed its investigation without any findings against her.
Today she says she would go back to the factory if she had to. “I could have lived off 400 bucks a week.”
A street interview made her famous. Her name made someone else rich. Was she the scammer, or just the easiest person in the deal to blame?
Locked in this month 💪
