"Within days, Russian soldiers poisoned their dog, an Alabai, along with all the other large dogs in Oleshky. They killed Liudmila’s nextdoor neighbor and raped his wife. A local butcher disappeared; no one knew whether he was also killed. Some neighbors were detained and beaten. Armed, masked soldiers searched Liudmila’s home three times, confiscating the couple’s Ukrainian passports and leaving them with no documents. And yet, Liudmila and Andriy stayed. They got a new puppy, also an Alabai. Russian troops started to move into civilian houses, parking tanks in what once were gardens."

Also, it has oddly never replied, and blocks commenting on its posts.

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?
1/2—To anyone surprised that Tucker Carlson defends Hitler, a reminder that his idol Putin did the same in 2024.
According to Putin, those darn Poles forced poor old Hitler’s attack by being so intransigent. Just like mean Ukrainians did to little Putin.😢
nitter.cf/Gerashchenko_en/status…
⚡️ Putin said the Poles forced Hitler to attack them in 1939.
Hitler just wanted to "realize his plans" and Poland was "uncooperative" and "forced" Hitler to attack and start World War II, Putin said.
So, 1939, late August.
Hitler: Poland, we want to annex you, agree!
Poland: We don't agree, we are a sovereign state and will remain so.
Hitler: You force me to conquer you by force. I declare war against you. God knows, it's your fault!
And Putin says: Hitler had no choice but to start with Poland.
What do you think of this interview, dear Polish followers?
2/2—So Tucker is entirely consistent. We should expect other Putin apologists on the far right and the far left – those who blame Moscow’s imperialist aggression on NATO eXpAnSiOn🙃🤪🫠 or whatever (Le Pen, Mélenchon etc.) – to soon likewise defend Hitler.
nitter.cf/MaxNordau/status/21061…
🚨🚨 Tucker Carlson insists three times that Hitler "did not want to go to war with the UK," and twice demands that Jacob Rees-Mogg "acknowledge" it.
Hitler "didn't want war" with Britain the way a mugger doesn't want a fight with his victim. He wanted Britain to stand aside while he took Europe.
Britain publicly guaranteed Poland's independence in March 1939. Hitler invaded Poland anyway.
Rees-Mogg: "I'm very surprised you're verging on defending Hitler."
Carlson sarcastically remarks that he is a secret Nazi, then clarifies that he is neither a secret Nazi nor a public Nazi.
I have NEVER before unfollowed anyone who follows me, but below tweet, plus him remaining unrepentant despite all the pushback he got, made me do it. (He was basically like, no I’m no 🇷🇺-appeasing far-right vatnik, I’m a 🇷🇺-appeasing far-LEFT vatnik.🤦 Yeah, same difference.)
1/3—I now followed @Shelby_Wilder. I see many people, including some of my mutual followers, balk at her working for Newsmax (I was surprised too), but the way I see it, if a journalist is good then she’s good. And she is. Her question to Kushner in Kyiv:
nitter.cf/KaterynaLis/status/209…
KUSHNER: Look, we were sitting before with Germany, right? which was a former enemy of the US, and so there's no such thing in the world as forever enemies or forever allies.
—————————————————
THIS IS WHAT I MEANT BY A GOOD QUESTIONS AND A BAD ANSWERS:
Jared Kushner mentions Germany as a former enemy of the U.S. in the context of current talks with russia. But he never mentions that the U.S. and the countries of the Alliance defeated Germany first. Then came years of reparations, accountability, and apologies from Germany. Only now, more than 80 years after the war, can you sit down and talk with Germany as an ally.
russia has never been punished for its horrific crimes, which at times have even surpassed the brutality of nazi ideology.
—————————————————
SHELBY WILDER, NEWSMAX (@Shelby_Wilder ) : This is for Mr. Witkoff, Mr. Kushner. During your time as President Trump's envoys, Russia has escalated its war against Ukraine. It has intensified its hybrid attacks against NATO, and it's deepened its ties with the likes of Iran and North Korea. So far, diplomacy has not changed Vladimir Putin's position. Following your latest meetings here and in Moscow, you say there are some new ideas. We've heard that before. You said that you were going to try. But if there is no breakthrough after these peace talks, is the US prepared to increase pressure on Russia?
JARED KUSHNER: Look, you know, we were sitting before with with Germany, right, which was a former you know, enemy of the US, and so there's no such thing, you know, in the world as you know, forever enemies or forever allies. And so, you know, we have to start with the first principle's idea of what the best outcome could be and what benefits all people. President Trump, comes from the business world, which in the business world, you think about things in the context of win-win. How do you create opportunities for both sides to do what's in their interest? A war is negative sum. Everyone loses from war. Whereas no business and peace is positive sum, and hopefully you can find big benefits from that in a big way. So, the role that Steve and I play, and again, we're part of a team in the US government, again led by President Trump and the Vice President JD Vance. and Marco Rubio and there's obviously Secretary Hegseth and the military and the intelligence groups as well. Our role is to try to be the ones, who are pursuing the peace. And like I said, if it was easy, it would've been done a long time ago. But it's a very important and noble pursuit, and we're gonna keep doing it with everything we have. And President Trump obviously has a lot of different ways to play it, but he's always focused on what are the best interests of, America and the United States and how do you find a way to do this in a way that can advance those interests.
2/3—Kushner dodged it, of course. (And apropos his blathering about Germany: there was no friendship until its Nazi regime had been utterly defeated, no “win-win” with Hitler in 1942, see map.)
Which she recognizes.
nitter.cf/Shelby_Wilder/status/2…
Replying to @CatherineHeik @donwinslow
Kushner didn’t answer my question, and his deflection says it all.
3/3—Also, to me, the number one issue in the world today is the pure evil of Moscow. If its genocidal imperialism can be soundly squelched in Ukraine, once and for all, I believe there will be positive effects elsewhere (🇺🇸, 🇮🇷 etc.) too. And she’s on it.

1/3—A Laura Loomer update.
First, a fair thread by @P_Kallioniemi. Her new pro-🇺🇦 stance does seem more genuine than her previous shallow 🇷🇺 propaganda, but the timing of her change is suspiciously convenient. (Will she remain pro-🇺🇦 after the midterms?)…
nitter.cf/P_Kallioniemi/status/2…
In today’s Vatnik Soup REBREW, we’ll reintroduce Laura Loomer @LauraLoomer, an American political activist. Our first possible case of a former vatnik, she’s best known for her unhinged takes on Ukraine & for admitting those were the result of falling for Russian propaganda.
1/20
2/3—…she casually denigrates Crimean Tatars, Chechens and other Muslims who, alongside Christians and Jews of Ukraine, fight the 🇷🇺 imperialists.
AND she insists that Ukraine should THANK Trump more than it already has (for essentially halting 🇺🇦 aid).
nitter.cf/onestpress/status/2081…
3/3—I have, like I said, unblocked Loomer. But, for all the talk now of a “newfound friendliness” of Trump towards Zelenskyy, below a reminder.
It’s hard to see time and effort on trying to convince Trump to finally stand up to Putin as more than a waste.

1/9—In July 2023 Nawrocki said Ukrainians have the right to choose their own heroes. Three years later, he turned 180°. Why?
Because then PiS was in power, and he didn’t want to cause trouble. Now they aren’t, and he does.
nitter.cf/egizelska/status/20640…
8/9—Polish nationalists wanted Zelenskyy to say NO to his troops who now risk their lives at the front, to deny them their preferred unit name and to lecture them on history. He didn’t.
🇺🇦 stands united with Zelenskyy.
🇷🇺 meanwhile stands with Nawrocki.
nitter.cf/joni_askola/status/206…
Nawrocki's decision to revoke Zelensky's Order of the White Eagle did not weaken the Ukrainian president, it forced his domestic rivals and past presidents to stand locked in behind him.
The war has shown that Ukrainians keep their disagreements internal and support their wartime leader, Zelensky, whenever he is abroad or dealing with external pressure.
When Nawrocki stripped Zelensky of Poland's highest distinction, he triggered a coordinated counter-response that highlighted Ukraine's deep political maturity. Zelensky mailed the physical honor back on Saturday, and a united front of Ukrainian dignitaries immediately followed suit.
Former President Petro Poroshenko became the last surviving democratic head of state to return his own Polish decorations, standing shoulder to shoulder with his former political predecessors Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yushchenko. Top wartime figures, including former military intelligence chief and current head of the presidential administration Kyrylo Budanov, the foreign minister, and Kyiv’s ambassador to Warsaw, renounced their titles as well.
This unified defense is also a direct rebuke to external forces trying to push for unconstitutional wartime elections.
Ukrainians are clear that while they have internal disagreements, Zelensky is their leader for the duration of the war.
Poroshenko even openly condemned Nawrocki's choice as erroneous and unfair to the Ukrainian people, highlighting that the award recognized the entire nation's sacrifice.
Ultimately, the war has shown that Ukrainians keep their quarrels strictly focused on internal issues, but support their president completely whenever he is abroad, dealing with foreign policy and external pressure
9/9—So if Nawrocki wanted Ukrainian contrition (spoiler: he didn’t) then he utterly failed. He just dragged Poland’s orders, and name, through the mud.
But Nawrocki couldn’t care less about Poland. His sole focus is on hurting domestic political enemies.

Zabierzmy ordery wszystkim Ukraińcom, bo Wołyń.
Niemcom, bo II Wojna,
Szwedom bo potop szwedzki,
Czechom za najazd Bolesława,
Słowakom za zdradę 1939,
Litwinom za Pieniaki,
Duńczykom, bo nie chcą Trumpowi oddać Grenlandii,
Francuzom za tchórzostwo w 39
Włochom za udział w wojnie,
Hiszpanom za głupi opór w Samosierze,
Amerykanom za Jałtę,
Austriakom za rozbiory,
Turkom za Cecorę i Chocim,
Białorusinom za trzymanie Grodna
Żydom, no Żydom wiadomo za wszystko.
