Terrible news for SEND families. We @LibDems have offered to work with the government to get SEND reform right - this can-kicking can’t go on.

Oh no. How sad
"I don't go with the consensus that Trump is going to get smashed." Nigel Farage is joined by the Daily Wire's Michael Knowles as Americans head to the polls in the midterm elections.

I do my throwing up on the drive to the count, and then it’s for looking at your phone and looking at the sampling sheets from box counts. And if your spreadsheet says you are winning, frantically checking the formulas to make sure for the 10th time they are right
Don’t understand the concept of an “election night watch party” at all. Election night is not for socializing. It’s for looking at your phone and throwing up

Normalise saying “this is really fucking weird, but I don’t think it should be banned”. True liberalism needs to make a comeback.

I hate porn. I’ve been sexually assaulted. My kids have seen porn which normalises the objectification of women (but talked to me about it). But I woke up to 100+ notifications because I hate censorship even more - especially via badly worded laws that won’t work
Restrictions on porn are genuinely such an insidious trojan horse for mass censorship because if you try to speak out against it, people on both sides of the political aisle will just write you off as a pervert.

This is horribly similar to my experience 24 years ago. Midwives were just too stressed and busy to care. 22 years ago, in a private hospital (thanks work insurance) I had a wonderful c-section experience. Food, plentiful painkillers, a bed that sat me up.
There's so much that resonates in the Sarah Close piece in the Mail. The care she received on the postnatal ward after a caesarean is something that many mothers will recognise:

I loved my first child from before I saw her. But I don’t think I enjoyed her until after my second experience of birth healed me from the horror of the first.

And here’s an example of the real problem which bad porn creates - a woman assuming that all sexual acts are things men do to women. The kink community is possibly one of the sections of society women are most respected in.
It’s shocking to see mainly men mocking this female MP for daring to say that choking a woman during sex is not playful. Since when has strangulation become playful? ‘Playful’ is saying it’s ok to abuse women. Men wouldn’t be calling it playful if it was them being strangled.

I really want us to find a solution to kids being exposed to violent misogynistic porn that makes them think Andrew Tate style abusive sex is normal. This blanket ban on depicting a random collection of acts does nothing to stop that and just risks criminalising kinks

Lewy Body is one of the worst forms of dementia. I’m glad for this absolute giant of a man that his experience of it was brief, and that he was surrounded by people who loved him.

Sometimes we even have good years. And desperately want to believe we are cured. To the extent that we tell everyone we are cured. The first crash after a period of remission is the worst. If only because you never let yourself feel that hopeful again.
Disability and chronic illness doesn't have an off-switch or big 'cure'. We have good days, where we can take on the world. That does come with a price. We crash and have bad days. Many of them. Miranda Hart is opening many people's eyes to that, so thank you. Solidarity ✊🏻

Coming to terms with being chronically ill often follows the 5 stages of grief. Reaching acceptance takes time, and even when you get there you still travel back to the other stages sometimes. I’m glad I didn’t have to go through that process in public

I wonder if Piers Morgan asks this question of every child of an alleged abuser? If Police told Meghan of allegations it’s on them to follow up, not her.
This Thomas Markle story is shocking, and if guilty, he must face full force of the law. But it raises a lot of questions: if police alerted Meghan in 2018 to allegations so serious she ended all contact, why was he not arrested? And why did she not go public to protect others?

Almost forgot how nasty people can get on here - but it is quite hilarious when half the replies to a post about someone else’s comments are “they didn’t say that” and the other half are “yes and they are right”

This guy utterly dismantles the populist politics of Reform and Restore in 90 seconds. It’s actually quite beautiful. Take decades of deep-rooted problems in Britain and convince people that a relatively tiny proportion of the population is responsible for all of them. Housing, the NHS, crime. Blame illegal migrants for everything. Suddenly, you don’t need credible solutions to the housing crisis, NHS waiting lists or crime. You just need increasingly extreme policies on immigration. And by the time people realise you never had meaningful answers to the vast majority of Britain’s problems, you’re already in power, handing out tax cuts to your donors.

So most of this is good, but I don’t know a single woman who will tell a man she doesn’t really know her address. And if a man pushed to get it that would be a complete red flag.
Attention Young Men: I am surrounded by 20 year old girls in my life that are smart, capable, hard working and cute. Nobody is dating them. Not sure what the deal is, but I don’t get it. Step 1: Stop playing video games Step 2: Head to great clips and get that lettuce cleaned up Step 3: Hit a shower (when dating hygiene is critical) Step 4: Go clean your car Step 5: Sign up for a yoga class Step 6: Go to the yoga class Step 7: Ask a cute for her phone number at yoga class (yes you can meet girls IRL and not just on the apps - 10/10 the Dirt Dog highly recommends) Step 8: Follow up within 2 days with a phone call and ask them out for this coming weekend Friday or Saturday night. Step 9: IMPORTANT - come up with a good game plane for date night. Get a dinner reservation, get an activity planned. Let them know in advance what you are doing so they can dress appropriately. I know you are gunna roll off the couch and head to date night, but they are not. They are going to stress about what to wear and call at least 6 different people on FaceTime to ask their opinion. Step 10: I highly recommend you bring flowers to the door step. I’m not covering that you go to the doorstep, because if you don’t do that you have no hope here. Women want men to date them. You don’t need to break the bank on flowers. Head to Trader Joe’s. Grab 2 different kinds of flowers. If you don’t know what matches find the closest looking lady to your mom at TJ’s and ask her. Wrap the 2 flowers into 1 bouquet with paper. Bonus Points you can cut open a TJ bag and use that as the paper. Step 11: Be a gentleman on the date. She isn’t there to hear your life story. Ask her about her. For every 1 question you answer, ask her 3. Open Doors, pay for the meal, be polite. Provided you follow most of this guideline you are highly likely to get yourself an opportunity for date number 2. Keep going until you find someone that you can’t imagine not being around all the time. That’s when you have found a good one for you. My life is complete with my wife as my companion. I wish you the same fortune in life. Happy Hunting.

Sex can be shitty and something you regret without being rape. Defining a binary of “sex I was glad I had” and “rape” is just as bad as defining it as “not rape” and “violent sexual assault”

This was me. Had always planned three kids. First pregnancy with OC on NHS was horrific. Only went ahead with second because work insurance covered private treatment. Gave up work and couldn’t face another awful NHS experience (or to pay for private treatment

I know more women than I can count who have been put off having another baby as a result of traumatic or actively disabling births.

“Transformed” is an incredibly useful word
Congrats to all for a great campaign. So sorry it wasn’t enough but tripling our vote share was huge. On Zack’s next steps - his leadership has transformed the party. I hope he now brings the same leadership to help resolve huge issues we face & transform our internal structures
